Could we expect anything less than copying once again?

Dear self-declared-scammer Smoothie,  I believe we can all learn from each other. There's some positive feedback coming from these alternative blockchains which I'm confident will also benefit Bitcoin too.

As Bitcoin itself and other similar chains have seen, there are numerous vulnerabilities and issues in the protocol, including :-
  • Slow transaction speeds, often making waiting for confirmations unbearable
  • Near complete shutdown of network due to pump-n-dumps by large operators
  • Transaction fee nightmares, no way of knowing what a fee will be until you've tried to send funds
  • Concentration of Bitcoins into elitist early adopters that have no interest or desire to help Bitcoins be used by "normal" people

WOW! Those arguments are laughably false. Was this written as a joke? Because I don't get it.

I thought I give this a try and got the following on two different Linux machines:

************************
EXCEPTION: N5boost16exception_detail10clone_implINS0_19error_info_injectorINS_6system12sys tem_errorEEEEE
Address already in use
solidcoin in ThreadRPCServer()

terminate called after throwing an instance of 'boost::exception_detail::clone_impl >'
  what():  Address already in use

+++ killed by SIGABRT +++
Aborted

Strace doesn't say anything about it failing to bind network ports, I'm not sure what kind of address it's talking about.

Nice software product there. It looks like it was coded by infosys or wipro.

I'm hoping to get sc_rate to be the exchange rate with btc out from the http://scexchange.bitparking.com:8080/api/ticker , but for some reason it's stopped working (or maybe it never worked in the first place).
Most likely it's because browser's don't allow XMLHttpRequests on domains other than the page they are being served from. This is known as 'Cross Origin' requests and is limited by the 'same domain policy'. The usual workaround is to make the request on your server, or proxy it from your webserver, so you can retrieve it coming from your own domain.

Who's going to be first to join using SC Huh ?   Embarrassed

First 6 "Other" sites to accept SolidCoin

Yeah that will qualify, however I find it very difficult to be able to get the SolidCoin address to send to? Requiring people to write down on paper the address seems a bit difficult? If you could improve it so it's more easily accessible the SC will be yours!

I've done that.

Now I've got to upload a new movie to my site; so I'll check back later.

I asked my web guy to get the script showing the current exchange rate price for SC on the pop up, but it's not really working properly and I've really got to get him working on my members site again. In the meantime has anyone got an idea whats wrong with this?

Code:

I'm hoping to get sc_rate to be the exchange rate with btc out from the http://scexchange.bitparking.com:8080/api/ticker , but for some reason it's stopped working (or maybe it never worked in the first place).

Is there any reason paying with SC is different than the BTC method?
They're using a third party payment service, https://coinb.in/. Maybe there should be a bounty for a SolidCoin equivalent, or for coinbin to support it.
Payment system is provided by http://coinb.in

I can't interface the bitcoin with the solidcoin unless coinb.in set up a system to cope with it.

I'll message the owner and ask him to look into it ...

I need to learn how to code JSON so I can have a running parity calculator as ArtForz demonstrated.

jquery client-side: data = $.getJSON(url)
php server-side: $json = json_encode($data);
python server-side: json_string = json.dumps(data);

here we go, now you can code JSON Wink

If there are any bounties left.

Might I suggest, if the currency grows sufficiently to break off for a seperate forum solution?  Would be cleaner and I believe Solidcoin has a chance to be successful of its own accord.... might also reduce confusion for users who are coming into Cryptocurrency for the first time through Solidcoin.

Vladimir said OtherCoins are welcome to get their space in his new forum http://bitcoin.org.uk

Even though, I am not a big fun of alternative currencies. SolidCoin people are more than welcome to set up support subforum here. See how MMC have done it, for example.
