Yes 5 minutes is the best kind of heads up to stop malicious pool owners from dominating all the early coin as was seen with I0coin.
No warning means all the small and more agile miners can get a piece of the pie making it more fair. If you think 90% of the coins being generated going into the hands of 4 or 5 people is good or fair then we'll have to disagree.

Wouldn't the solution be to set the initial difficulty high?  As the difficulty falls (as solidcoin is deigned to do) pools and the rest will mine fairly.

I sent 100 SC's to scexchange.bitparking.com and the SC's definately left my wallet, but the transfers stays at 0/Unconfirmed. What does this mean?

Possibly that the block containing your transaction isn't yet in your sc wallet. Check it on sc block explorer at http://solidcoin.whmcr.co.uk/.

Nice to see the steady difficulty rise, so much better than the abrupt cliffs of i0coin/ixcoin/namecoin.

SC Guild has become the first pool to pass 100 GH/s (and still rising).  We'll be splitting 1,000 SC of the 2,500 bounty with miners on random rounds after it has been received.  Address for bounty: sQS2JPDdtzpXmoTKAJgvZgK94BYNuouHUv

The solidcoin block explorer is at http://solidcoin.whmcr.co.uk.

Why do the Solidcoin addresses there begin with "1" and not "s"? they look like bitcoin addresses.
Looks like they haven't adjusted the algorithm for addresses in the block explorer to use solidcoin's instead of bitcoin's.
