Wolf0 is a superb GPU coder.  IMO he deserves the spoils of his work.  Additionally, I think you'll find that his code has benefited most every GPU miner here.  Shout out to smolen and reorder as well.  If not for these guys our GPUs might be quite useless for coin mining by now.

I was just curious as I am learning C++ and CUDA.  I've got my code talking stratum and hashing but not working correctly.  Not sure how long it will take me, if ever.  My code fu is weak.  I'm a "duct tape coder", splicing pieces from other CPU and GPU miners.  I like to compare my code to the aforementioned coders to learn.
Thank you for your warm words. The problem is I have not so much mining code to show. Most is utterly obsolete, and some is too hot. Copperlark kernel (opensourced slow kernel and held fast one for myself), Quark (published almost all OpenCL code in Smelter thread), first public Blake kernel (paid by Vorksholk), Protoshares, Sifcoin - if you need anything of this old code, PM or leave a message, I'll post link or code. WhirlpoolX miner is too new to be released now, sorry, I'm greedy with new toys Smiley

Researching this right now. Can someone answer some questions?

1. OP says PoK optional. What/when does that mean?
2. Does Ziftr have a whitepaper available?

Cheers

also works on Nvidia

2MH/s on a 280X? Perhaps step up your game a little, above 4.1MH/s is attainable.

What is the advantage of Ziftrcoin over existing 2.0 crypto coins?

Off the top of my head, these are some of the features we've added from a technical standpoint.
A unique distribution curve that doesn't heavily reward early miners.
An addition to mining we call Proof of Knowledge that rewards miners for running full nodes.
The ability to "lock up" coins so they can't be spent for a certain period of time (like our premine).
A scalable block size limit.
A "tie-breaker" system that de-incentivizes mining empty blocks and mitigates block chain branching.

Not related to the technology we also a few other advantages.
ZiftrCoin is from a real US based company with public verifiable profiles for all its employees.
We have full time developers working on the coin.
Once we have our merchant integration and shopping site fully setup, we will value the coin at $1 for 5% of the price of any purchases made.

Some nice features. Thank you.

I will make available to any interested party a standalone ZiftrCoin GPU miner for Nvidia, for a small fee to share with the developer (which is not me). PM me for details and have 0.2 BTC at hand. I will pass along the Windows binary as well as full source.

Note: There will be public GPU miners soon, for everyone, so it's your call on such a deal being worthwhile or not.  Cool

Happy Mining!

Edit: Damn it. ZWGuy is ruining it for me  Grin

I think it's obvious to most, but just in case, I'd strongly advise against buying any GPU mining code for ZiftrCoin.

Our plan is to release all the GPU stuff tonight, including Qt Wallet integration and source. It will also include kernel binaries optimized by Wolf0 (which get around 2.8 MH/s on AMD 280).

Even if we don't release tonight, which though unlikely is still possible, it won't be much longer. If someone wants ZiftrCoin (we hope you do) and has a bitcoin to spare, there are better ways to use it.

 Cheesy Hilarious.

They're going to release a gpu miner, that's a fact. it doesn't matter if it's today, or tomorrow, or even next week.

No one will pay you for it, knowing that the devs will release one anyway (for free) and also for not knowing if they will have an advantage over everyone for more then a month or so. Not even a big ass farmer..

2MH on a 280x? you do realize that that isn't that good?

Good luck with that..

I do not force anyone, and do not insist. exe clean without viruses.
hardly the public release should happen within the next 24 hours ^) I have my doubts in this  Wink

You really want someone to pay 1 BTC for an exe from a mewbie account?

For real?

Based on the history (or lack thereof) on your account it is going to require a fair bit of proof and most likely escrow before anyone considers paying you for a gpu miner, and then there's the safety of your .exe with regards to virus's and wallet theivery. In short don't expect a lot of sales.

So what's going on with GPU miner now? Is it released yet?
if you have some knowledge about programing take source code from jackpotcoin https://github.com/djm34/sgminer-jpc sgminer make some modifications, will recieve gpu miner for ziftrcoin... profit ))

In JPC, there are 9 kernels executed there that don't need to be for the hash, per hash. I think there's a better way, at least on Hawaii and newer.

And 99.5% here open that kernel file and are like: Wtf is this..  Undecided Huh

Not in the kernel file... which proves your point, funnily enough.

So what's going on with GPU miner now? Is it released yet?

They posted on Reddit, saying they're delayed, but I don't know what caused it. Anyway, if you want some news, I was told about 3 days ago that the AMD GPU miner did about 1.7MH/s on a 280X. That miner also used a godawful amount of host memory. I say that I was told, because I didn't bother trying it. Tongue

I dropped the memory usage to about 9% of what it was while I properly did the ZR5 algo. Current pushed and tested code gets around 2.8MH/s on a 7950, clocked at 1000/1250. In-development, bleeding-edge code on my HDD gets 3MH/s on the same.

I tested this one on Windows myself, to ensure it worked, as many miners use Windows. Screenshot of stable(ish) version running on a 7950, 290X, and 285 (NSFW): https://ottrbutt.com/miner/zr5wolf-03242015-2.png

waiting for public release  Smiley
