Super late to the party. Looks like there was some drama during the launch. Does anyone think this will hit an exchange? Judging by the difficulty it would take me a couple years to hit a block.

I will look at the new PascalCoin source code 1.4.3 and update our wallet with the changes in the next few hours...

Turbo pascal is relaunching with those time drift changes btw

Yeah I know.

I think those that are upset about my launch should just mine that coin instead since I don't think relaunching is the right thing to do because many people besides these miner cheaters were also mining this coin. And I don't think its fair to them to do a relaunch. It would be just wasted hash power.

Here what I said earlier regarding relaunching

Quote
Situation is very similar to what happened to ETH during the DAO hack and with ETC being created.

As much as I would think its fair to do another relaunch, I won't for a few reasons. One being that there are a numerous amount of nodes now and I only control one of them, so even if I wanted to do a relaunch I couldn't unless most of those nodes upgraded to the new wallet with a fresh blockchain. Second is that "CODE IS LAW" ideology where even though those miner cheaters did cheat, they didn't actually do anything wrong because it was all in the code.

So even if I did try to relaunch, half the nodes might not agree and there would be a "Pascal Lite Classic" formed AND by relaunching it makes the coin not immutable which is what the basic principle of decentralized cryptocurrencies is all about.

This coin was launched mostly for fun and I tried to keep it fair unlike those other Pascal scam clones with premine and instamining. I am learning programming and thought it would be a good place to start with. I also got nothing out of this either, I haven't mined any coins either besides the 10 blocks before the launch and all those I donated away.

So I would be the one to benefit the most from a relaunch however I won't do it because its just not fair to others.

Greetings.

Pretty sure I'm mining right. It shows the hash rate and all in the cmd window for the sp miner. Not sure if it's translating to the network though as it only shows the proxy in the wallet. The proxy shows payloads received though.

Also here's the public key in case that's helpful.

Good luck going forward.

Very entertaining, I saw PascalClassic, now PascalLife, what are you kidding me, or you prikolko create a new name and forking this coin many times, as for me it's not funny, it's complete insanity, stop doing it

suposedly pascal classic failed and actually there is nothing wrong with alt coins and clones , thats what the whole cryptocurrency space is about, the coin with the best development wins

It's just funny that clone coins trying to solve problems only the architect of the original coin can solve.

Is it possible to solomine PASCAL Lite with sgminer?

I got dobble the hashrate with sgminer vs psacalcoinminer when I mined PASCAL (POOL mining).
AFAIK it is not possible yet.

The first miner crashes on my 6950, the second one (V2) is slow (50MH) and has no intensity settings, the third one (sgminer) is very fast @290MH/s but supports no solo mining.  Undecided

PascalCoin Build 1.4.3

Hi PascalCoin users

New build 1.4.3 is ready.

It has some minor changes, also prevents "old time" mining.
Windows installer includes OpenCL miner

Source code is at GitHub:
https://github.com/PascalCoin/PascalCoin

Binaries, Windows installer, blockchain... at SourceForge:

Block 715 mined by kontik had a fake timestamp again. What an evil guy...  Tongue

edit: Block 721 just now too. Block 723 mined by him had a legit timestamp.

his node should be blocked or something this guy is a real jerk
Dunno, he might just have a shit ton of Amazon instances that are not properly time synced. You can't expect every miner to have his clock set exactly to "internet time", deviations up to 5 minutes are "normal" imo.

It is a clear oversight of the Pascalcoin dev and I hope he will release an update, so far his only response was ambiguuous:
Hi all.

I've received ocminer warning and I've found what's going on.

Problem is found and solution too. No problem.

Pools will have a definitive solution in few hours, meanwhile you can mine without problems.
Blockchain is secure and protected, maximum difference of 300 seconds between nodes is still working and protecting blockchain, the problem is that pools do not use a correct timestamp if it's current time is lower than the last blockchain timestamp, meanwhile, if they need, can just increment manually time.

This post by Vorksholk is pretty interesting:
Not sure what fix the PascalCoin dev is working on, but the usual solution that other PoW blockchains adopt is to let a new block be valid if its timestamp is greater than the median timestamp of the last 'n' (bitcoin chooses 11) blocks, and if it's less than the "network adjusted time" (average of all nodes you're connected to) + m hours (bitcoin chooses 2).

This sudden increase in price shook me badly was not ready to see this happening. Any solid reason for all this increase as developer by himself was amazed which was shown by some circulated tweet by him. What is the real reason of all this increase or just market manipulation by whales.

this one is not even listed on exhcanges as far as i know
