when you have a price this cheap and pump this big in such a short period of time, of course you're gonna have a lot people cashing their profit. its human nature. but once coin is stable on 0.53$ or 1$, you won't find many people cashing out on next pump, unless it goes from 1$ to 100$ in two weeks.
I hope to see $50-100 PIVX in 2018. Do not want a steep rise. Build trust and implement good new features. As usual, time will tell.That would mean >1 billion cap market.Quite possible

1500+ masternodes x 10,000 = 15,000,000+ => 52,000,000 - 15,000,000+ = 37,000,000 -> the real available supply of coins

Is fud only the reason for the price drop or are people from top really dumping it hard ?
a combination i guess. some early investors are still taking profit (you have to accept that in alt business).
i also sold around 10-20k @ at 0.0008 sats but hey we support, operate masternodes and stuff for PIVX for over a year now.
however i guess price will stabilize around 0.0003 - 0.0006, and will raise again at least before/after new development is released, marketing campaign and so on.
never invest in alts for a quick buck if you don't have years of experience with this game
edit: i wan't to add, in my opinion pivx was overpriced for this stage of development and i guess around 40-60 Cents is ok for now.
maybe 1$ or more if ZP is released and other stuff.

now i cant open the wallet, terminal spits this back after trying: Segmentation fault (core dumped), previous to that it said something was corrupt and wanted to reload the blockchain?
Did you ever find the cause? I'm getting the same fault.my guess would be a corrupted blockchain db which can happen. the devs have high priority for this problem atm.
have you tried to delete the chain and resync or copy/paste from a backup?
if needed i can give u link with a chain backup which is never older than 2 hrs.
if i'm wrong you should visit the slack channel (lots of helpful people there) or the off forum for help
