The current plan for the reduction in block rewards makes the next few months a good time to be running masternodes and staking.
Let's hope there is the next few months adoption of DNET for than just for trading and speculation.
So is it ok to use the master release from github?

Is that from your own stakes? Or from not upgraded clients still running PoW?
That 11k of DNET was from sent from Bittrex to my v2.0.0.0 controller wallet's address after block 259200.
My controller wallet was already staking at the time even before this withdrawal with block count >259200.
So surely I can only assume Bittrex was also on the same blockchain as me beyond the block # 259200?
(this withdrawal was done approx 20mins after block 259200 was globally reached and while my wallet had a block number greater than 259200)
Anyways, I'm eagely waiting for the fixed wallet.

There is no valid chain after 259200. I would be thrilled if you could show me a chain that has more than 2 people connected to it. I don't think it exists.
How trex was sending coins to all these separate chains?
Go to your wallet, find the transaction and copy the transaction ID. Go to the debug window and type: gettransaction inserttxidhere
post the results here.
My wallet was stuck, deleted chain data.........now wallet is stuck at 259200. Both transactions were after 259200 height. So 0 confirms.

My masternodes seem to be happily waiting at 259200 with

We are about one commit away from giving the go ahead to update your masternodes and wallet clients.
If you are on block 259200 then you will be able to upgrade the client and sync right up. If you went past 259200 on a fork, then you will have to resync or restore a backup.

My masternodes seem to be happily waiting at 259200 with
"status" : "Masternode successfully started".
Any suggestions from the devs about what to do with currently running masternodes or what will be likely necessary steps one should take when the fix is ready?
Anyway, it is nice to see some action in github indicating a solution is in the works.

I am working with the DNET team to implement a fix to the node communication issue. We worked late into the night and got quite a bit done. Now we are in the testing phase. Hope to have some better information for you all soon. As of now, I would expect to consider anything after 259200 as not valid. I think best route going forward will be for us to make sure this fix works, then mint 10-20 PoS blocks and then hard checkpoint it into the wallet, then distribute the new version.

What happens to the coins that i withdrew from bittrex after block 259200?
It came through without issue .will i lose that?
That would be an issue.......I also did a couple of small transfers.
I am not sure how you could have something go through after 259200. My guess is that you minted it into a transaction yourself and that it will be in the mempool waiting to get into a block once the update is ready.
Initial testing has gone well, I have a few nodes synced up to a PoS chain. Should have more details to you folks soon. I am more than happy to give up any staking rewards I have received in the process.
I did 1 small and 1 large withdraw from bittrex after block 259200 using v2 wallet.
It was done during the time when i was getting stake rewards. (minted) (still am)
It has over 1000 confirms so yeah, it would be an issue if i just lose it...
Surely there must have been others who also withdrew after block 259200. (but maybe not on this forum)
That would mean they will also lose their coins. Hmm.
Yeah. We cannot just discard blocks after 259200 height. It may not be good for the coin. Don't repeat ETH mistakes.
