Thanks for informative post about many potential events to come (Roadmap, In-wallet proposal, in-wallet Voting). Hope that those ones will be composed as good, less-bugs as possible to help the project fly over the moon after those ones released.

Upbit Korea exchange announced just now that $PIVX wallet will come online by end of this week. This means users will be able to deposit & withdraw #PIVX for the first time since being listed on #Upbit.

Nice !! Thanks for the report ! Do you know how many confs they will ask to accept the tx?

I haven’t used upbit although assuming it would be similar to Bittrex but not sure.  Good thing is that pivx has fast block times so I wouldn’t have thought it would take long to get the required confs.

Where can I suggest proposals to the dev team? I don't really want to do an official proposal until I get some feedback.

Anyway, my proposal would be to develop sort of a Proxy Staking feature, meaning that you could stake your coins on a remote PC without any risk of losing your funds - sort of like masternodes. Instead of with masternodeprivkey, using stakingprivkey or something.

I'm mostly staking these days on a remote server to avoid shutdowns but even if I only unlock the wallet for staking purposes, a simple keylogger could get my funds stolen easily. So it would be nice to stake without any risk involved (cold wallet + safe, proxy-wallet staking).

https://pivx.org/proposals/

The link above has details on submitting proposals although if you connected to discord there is a budget proposal section so that you can discuss your idea , as the devs are in discord you would get a better idea if it is already in the roadmap or if your able to assist to get it done if approved etc.

I believe that the ability to stake with hardware wallet etc is something others have wanted, ark has hardware wallet support and delegated proof of stake model although could lead to less people staking , less decentralized definately worth the discussion.

This is a very promising project, and now we have seen good achievements in the block chain and the password field.

Hey , I will like to know how many PIVX is required to stake. is there a minimum amount of PIVX to have for you to get reasonable return when staking. Thanks

There is no minimum the following site has a good calculator as an estimate, “reasonable return” would be depending on your situation but you would want to at least cover the power cost of leaving a device running and staking.  Also depends if you plan to sell any coins you get from staking straight away or if your a longer term believer and expect the price to rise in the future.

Put the fun back into banking!
Little update for folks here (if you aren't in the discord channels).

I'm on my way to the "haste and hustle" event in Toronto, which is spearheaded and largely driven by Gary Vaynerchuk.  PIVX is a main sponsor, and I'll get a LOT of facetime with Gary, introductions to influences, etc, etc...introduce him for his keynote, and also get a few interviews.

PIVX is crossing the threshold into "brand" territory, where recognizable "celebs" and market drivers with lots of followers are beginning to pay attention to the Purple Smiley

Hi Snappy,

congrats to 1 year PIVXpress Vidz!!  Cool
You are the face of our purple movement!

Looking forward to the new implementations in 2018, especially zPiv and would you mind to visualize the 3 Stake methods then and explain them in detail?  thx in advance

Keep up the great work!
And keep it purple   Grin Grin Grin

PIVX is now available for exchange on WallofCoins!

Wall of Coins offers an online peer-to-peer buying and selling platform that makes purchasing PIV with cash a breeze.
Wall of Coins is known in the industry as a web-based platform that allows users to purchase and sell Bitcoin and Dash with paper cash deposits via a P2P system.

I am staking about 500 coins and I only got 2 coins as reward in the last 3 months. What am I doing wrong.

Hello!

according to cryptonode.co you should get 2.02 pivx per month.

Be sure that all your coins are on the same address (active coin control feature to check). Check you peers (tor may increase latency and leads to orphan blocks). And check that your computer has enough power (cpu/ram) to manage pivx. Since zpiv introduction it is a little bit more intensive on ram and cpu Smiley.

And ultimately it comes to luck. You can check in the debug mode with getdifficulty (now 203327.56984228) which is super high !

edit: and check that you are 24/7 online... otherwise all estimations are wrong (wifi cutoff time, sleep mode deactivated etc).

Hey guys, I have a question.

Why was this coin so successful and popular?

Is it not just a fork of dash with slightly modified parameters?

Just curious, I want to know why this coin is so successful while many other privacy coins tend to lag behind.

Thanks.

Oversimplified answer:

  • The parameters are much more than 'slightly' modified from DASH, and they're becoming more unique day by day (PoS, Zerocoin Protocol + staking, much faster tx time, fees burnt so low/negative inflation, and a ton of other things as outlined in the current roadmap: https://pivx.org/what-is-pivx/roadmap/). It's true that at the beginning PIVX was 'just' a DASH fork, but it's been diverging steadily through more than 2 years of active development. It's now among the most secure and innovative privacy coins.
  • No historical baggage a la DASH's instamine issue; initial PoW phase was open to everyone and the 60K Piv that were premined to start the first 6 masternodes were publicly burnt.
  • Long history of dedicated devs that deliver on planned features.
  • Active, approachable community, especially on Discord (Reddit, BCT and the PIVX forum all have decent activity, but not as much as Discord).

When I see what is happening to those invested in zcl... I can only thank so much the devs and all pivians for honesty and integrity. What ever the price now, the real thing is that those have no price per se, but mean everything at the same time Smiley

Now about your inflation comment, remember if you stake or run a masternode, you only have negative inflation, because your stake increase with the rate of coin supply expansion and as you say some pivx are burnt.
