The total supply could be one of the factors in benchmark price. However, it is not the big deal. There are many coins without total supply limit. Also, the block reward will decrease, and difficulty is getting higher. The amount created coins from mining should keep decreasing, so it’s not gonna be an issue even if there is no limited total supply. The important thing is that how much the coin is useful in real world, and how many people want it. The price would be made based on supply and demand of people.
