The no announcement + launch time is how devs can get a nice bit of the coin without premining

My quark miner doesn't even seem to detect a new block but it's definitely hashing. Is this right? Maybe it's only stratum that detects new blocks automatically.

haven't found anything yet. soloing. difficulty says 0 in cgminer, and 47 under getinfo debug window.
It dont work in cgminer... Read the Thread, and use what Admin say
.ah guess i was thrown off cuz it doesn't actually say that cgminer don't work.. i'll give it a try but i'm hesitant.. i like to know my gpu's aren't gonna fry using the --auto-fan command in cgminer.

15 second block times with 10,000 blocks before lowered rewards.
10,000 blocks will take 150,000 seconds.
or 2,500 minutes.
or 41.66666666 hours.
So in less than 2 days the rewards will halve.
Then the rewards will go to half at an even faster rate and after ~4 days it will be down to minimum of 1,563 coins other than the 100,000 super blocks?
Also "self-moderated topic" isn't something I like to see with coin launches.
