I need to recompile the Q2C daemon for Poloniex, and I just can't get past this error:

net.cpp:1196:6: warning: character constant too long for its type [enabled by default]
net.cpp:1196:30: warning: character constant too long for its type [enabled by default]
net.cpp:1197:6: warning: character constant too long for its type [enabled by default]
net.cpp:1197:32: warning: character constant too long for its type [enabled by default]
net.cpp:1199:1: error: invalid conversion from ‘int’ to ‘const char*’ [-fpermissive]
net.cpp:1199:1: error: invalid conversion from ‘int’ to ‘const char*’ [-fpermissive]
net.cpp:1199:1: error: invalid conversion from ‘int’ to ‘const char*’ [-fpermissive]
net.cpp:1199:1: error: invalid conversion from ‘int’ to ‘const char*’ [-fpermissive]
make: *** [obj/net.o] Error 1

It looks like an actual error in the source, but that seems unlikely. Does anyone know what to do about this?

Was getting frustrated over the same error, but I think I've solved it:
Go to line 1196 in net.cpp and replace:
Quote
   {'s-seed.mine-pool.net', 's-seed.mine-pool.net'}, // test static dns seeds
    {'q2c-seed.mine-pool.net', 'q2c-seed.mine-pool.net'}, // test dynamic dns seeds
    {NULL, NULL}
with
Quote
   {"s-seed.mine-pool.net", "s-seed.mine-pool.net"}, // test static dns seeds
    {"q2c-seed.mine-pool.net", "q2c-seed.mine-pool.net"}, // test dynamic dns seeds
    {NULL, NULL}

At least it compiled. I will test it in a few moments.

thanks! commit!

Who does not understand strings...
We do not necessarily add new nodes we have DNS seeds for this!

Thanks for this @ex_mac!

edit:
try recompile all good... maybe some one recompile for mac and win?

over 400 total was testing it and my thoughts were right
test your games before you use them its us that lose out i know its not much but i could of had all my coins from wallet in there

Hi, unlucky guy!
All games of gable are similar. You are fighting with statistics, the math, the rule of universe. So you can not win statistically.
If you use very small coins and do it many times, you will probably 100% be the loser.
If you just do it ONCE, with large amount of coins, then you will win with a theoretical probability (usually ~45%).

was block 89868 orphaned??? I see my transaction on the block chain but nothing has come into my wallet.

Yes, it was orphaned. I'll work on fixing block explorer to handle orphaned blocks correctly.
thank you for the reply Lest

I'll delay displaying blocks in the block explorer by 5 blocks (around 2.5 minutes) while working on finding the best way to handle orphaned blocks.

I know the voices in my head aren't real.
I just did one computer with the code you provided and it worked once I turned off my instance of cgminer. (the code I used on the amd still didn't work however) I guess I cant use the Celeron while its doing other things. the I7 is just finicky. sometimes cgminer will work and sometimes it wont so I don't expect to get this running unless my stars are aligned. ill just use the wallet on it. looks like im getting 79k hashes according to hashespersec.
I appreciate you looking at it and helping.

thanks

the code should work on both amd and intel platforms .... i have 8core amd 8350 works fine ... and my friend got i7 4770k  also works great for him

the problem u would be facing is with windows or cgminer . idk really know

if u want to mine with gpu+cpu

i use the cgminer scrypt alpha ... works fine with qubit 1.1a miner ...
I have the cgminer for the chili's and other assorted attachments. ill probably just leave the Centrino alone and use the other cpu's. ill play with it more tomorrow.

I know the voices in my head aren't real.
ill put this out to the forum and maybe someone knows a work around. I have 1 amd 6 core, 1 I7 and 1 Centrino. I tried the same command line on all 3 but it wont work on the intel chips, only works on the amd. it  just starts and crashes for the intel chips. the batch file is as follows:

minerd.exe -a qubit -o http://pool-us.qbit-chain.com:9372 -u xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx -p xxx
maybe someone can see something im missing.

What version of miner? What Windows do you have on these pcs?
I have 64 bit windows 7 on all the pc's. I tried the 64 bit miner and the 32 bit miner from page one in addition to the improved miner from page one.
