updates ...
Standalone cpu miner will be available from start..

how much improved over just mining with the wallet

also

make the wallet and conf available to download way before launch and just release the password when ready.

standalone cpuminer is in alpha test ... its will be released to help pools owners to support this coin .. i think miner will need more optimization .. and I think we should not rush after the source will be available and you will be able to draw conclusions about this crypto-currency can talk about further development))

Submission for logo bounty, suggestions for font would be nice. I think a bunch of the coin logos that come out seem a bit to cheesy/lame so I went with something pretty simple/functional and recognizable and something that scales up / down easily. In my opinion it is much better for marketing.

and do you need some supercomputer or super graphic card or can it be mined by normal notebook?

Perhaps quite the opposite infact as these algos. are very efficient in the main.

Although, as with any crypto-currency you can still be out hashed by more powerful tech., CPU farms and botnets etc.

quark ?XPM?
new algo
5 rounds of hashing  functions (luffa, cubehash, shavite, simd, echo).

The implementation of these functions and the source code will be interesting.

These algos. are all round two candidates from the SHA-3 comp.

Luffa - http://www.sdl.hitachi.co.jp/crypto/luffa/ > http://www.hitachi.com/rd/yrl/crypto/luffa/

CubeHash - http://cubehash.cr.yp.to/

SHAvite-3 - http://www.cs.technion.ac.il/~orrd/SHAvite-3/

SIMD - http://www.cs.technion.ac.il/~orrd/SHAvite-3/

ECHO - http://crypto.rd.francetelecom.com/echo/

The majority of these functions are comparatively fast with good compression, AES compatability and security against cryptanalysis.

All being present and correct this could quite possibly be the technical alt. coin of this year ?

Do some of these functions perhaps lend themselves quite well to hybrid CPU / ASIC hashing in the future ?

...

It would of been good to call them Cubits after the hashing function, although I think most will hopefully be able to differenciate between Qubitcoin (Qubit) and Cubits ... !?!

Blocks 1-10,000 - 0.0001 MRC (To set difficulty and test network)
Blocks 10,000-160,000 - Block reward is the same as block number. (For fair launch)
Example: Block number 10,000 = 10,000MRC, Block number 160,000 = 160,000MRC
Blocks 160,000 - 310,000 - Block reward descending by one for each block. (For deflation)
Example: Block number 160,000 = 160,000MRC, Block number 160,001 = 159,999MRC and so on.
310,000+ - Block reward is a solid 10,000

please do like that to prevent a diff rape if you really want a smooth launch
thanks ...
little changes was added...
firsts 1000 blocks - block reward will be 1 QBT ...

Seriously if you don't want to change the name of the coin, change the short-form QBT.

It's only going to confuse people who are looking for your coin. A good example would be mastercoin besides the examples given from previous posters.

* Super secure hashing: 5 rounds of hashing  functions (luffa, cubehash, shavite, simd, echo).
* CPU mining
* Qubit block generation: 30 seconds
* 2048 QBT per block (halving every 60480 blocks)
* Total of 250 million QBT.
* Difficulty retargets every 20 blocks.

Mining with cpu-miner (minerd) for quark or another soft?
it's different algo ... miner from quark is incompatible for qubitcoin.

It looks interesting. It can only be mined from wallet?

If minerd is not compatible, which code should we use for pool mining?

Hmm, you announce coin without wallet... yeah, probably I can trust... but.. without MINER FOR THIS COIN. It's just ridiculous. It's like say "Stand and go!" and cut legs.
How about Primecoin? and you think litecoin and bitcoin had miner from start?

Ok. Let's try to do some timemashine and geeks will mine your coin.
we all is adults and can decide what we do ... build timemachine or atomic bomb or new cryptocurrency))
