Your concern has already been addressed by Dabs, the guy who's handling the escrow. All the non-escrow addresses that are available will be under the control of Dabs and no member of the Respectonomy team will have any access to the coins until Dabs and/or SebastianJu release it.

Considering that an ICO scam just ended (Ascendancy) taking advantage of time-delayed forwarding from a non-escrow address to an escrow address, why not have investors instead send their bitcoins directly to an escrow address?  The latter is definitely possible, and I have seen it on some other ICOs.

Escrows are not magic, as nothing prevents just releasing a generic clone coin to technically satisfy an escrow and then disappearing without further development.  However, an identical escrow loophole to the Ascendancy scam only raises concerns further.

Respectonomy does have an interesting concept and a far better whitepaper than Ascendancy, but, like Gleb Gamow has pointed out (with some legitimate points beneath the humor and sarcasm), there are some serious red flags.

I'm not siding with anyone. I'm trying to remain as neutral and as unbiased as possible, thus gave them the option to continue; however I will be holding the coins. The devs will never get to touch the coins unless they can deliver.

I have escrowed other coins, some devs were more anonymous or have no background whatsoever but delivered. Some attempted to scam, but were stopped due to not holding any funds. Some launched. Some, while not scamming, just failed to launch. Those did not launch were refunded.

It is not up to me to predict if a coin is successful (in terms of ROI) or not; no one can do that.

If it does not launch, everyone will get a refund provided they can prove ownership through one of two methods as described by SebastianJu.

My job has been to make sure that promises or agreements are kept. I don't judge unless it comes to some form of dispute resolution, which I try to avoid as it's a major headache.

Now that their histories are exposed, participants can think for themselves if they still want to continue, the only risk being that their funds will be held for some time and any transaction fees (usually 0.0001) or refund fees will not be returned.

I will be posting a master public key and the first few thousand addresses. If it's not there or you can't determine your own deposit address from the xpubkey, then don't send.

Dabs, as you can easily see, folks have put faith in this ICO based on your and SebastianJu's formidable participation, they using your venerableness because nary of them can provide their own, remaining 100% faceless, including their Foundher, Miss Budchai, a face in the crowd, with the only mention of Budchai Kaeophiphob on the entire Internet being her affiliation with respectonomy.com.

It's for that reason, among others, dictating that RES is nothing but a scam, and it saddens me to now learn that you're not removing yourself as one of their escrow agents.

There's no way in hell an associated of RES who once asked what's the difference between PRE-ANN and ANN, and another associate of RES inquiring about the difference between PoW and PoS could've penned the following white paper: https://respectonomy.com/Whitepaper.pdf. Hell, it's document that one of RES' devs inquired how to read code on GitHub. How many fuckin red flags must be waiving in a hurricane force wind before those being signaled come to the realization that evacuating is paramount?

Dabs, you were in the military, and perhaps still are, thus should damn well know who the enemy is and what the best course of action is: either combat them or opt not to battle; not side with them so to eventually battle with the good guys.

In light of the recent developments in this thread, I offer the devs full escrow services using a list of deposit addresses all under escrow with me, Dabs, for no additional charge. This is what I have done with other coins.

All the devs have to do is import those addresses into their ICO website, and I will take care of forwarding the coins on a daily basis to the multi-signature address.

This should remove any doubts about the escrows, both me and SebastianJu as it would shift partial responsibility to me; and my reputation is on the line.

In case a refund will happen, it can happen. In case the coin and social network gets launched, then the devs get paid according to their stated milestones.


As potential investors, it is your responsibility to check that the deposit address you are going to send your BTC into is in my list, which I will publish a few hours before the ICO begins.

If you do this, the RES devs do not hold the coins until they can deliver their project.

I have already sent a PM to the main dev the full list. There are 2000 (two thousand) addresses, more than enough to get started. Either me or SebastianJu can add more later if required.

I read the last few pages of this thread, and I began to have doubts about the integrity of the developer. I'm a little concerned about what will happen next and how investors would react to this project.
