Please add this coin to endlessfails.com along with coinye and max

Explain why without saying Windows wallet.

I wish this was like Coinye and Max - both extremely profitable Smiley

This coin has an actual technical purpose for all those math nerds out there.

Well its been 8 hours running hard with 64 cores and all I have so far is a single orphan.   Huh
Is your miner set to --scantime 1?

I have not. thanks for the tip, i'll run that now.

Why is that karma?  If I choose to spend money (just as you or anyone else can) to use VPS's to mine, why have I done something wrong?
Congrats by the way, you're lucky!
Well you and the other farm operators obviously expected to make some/many coins but now it kicks you in the butt because the diff rocketed in an extreme way and will continue to do so. Also in my experience VPS are almost never profitable and you'd do much better with one or many rootservers. (I pay 43€ per month for the i7 920, 3 cores of it get me 475000 knumbers/s, hetzner ftw)
The Karma thing was a joke, since luck means everything you could say that bad karma from being "greedy" ate up all your luck.

Is your miner set to --scantime 1?

what does that do exactly?
It tells your miner to check every second if there was a new block so you don't mine an orphan. Not sure if 1 is the best/most sane setting, can someone chime in?

External miner

Both miners are not yet optimized, but the built-in wallet miner is even worse, it does not use the GMP library which should give it a big boost.
Have you done any work on it yet?  I might try to this weekend.  I can see a number of improvements.

I'm giving it one last try using a single RPC server for all of my farm machines now to see if I get any blocks.  Time to block is around 14 minutes with my farm so we will soon see.

LOL my shitty 4 core i7 920 server found a block. Lucky me! Grin
"Boohoo I paid hundreds of $ for my VPS farm and found nothing in the few hours since launch!", Karma's a bitch. Don't be greedy. Good coins are hard to mine, I don't expect to find the next block in the next 72 hours, if at all. Get a root. Wink

I wanted to whole hardheartedly support this coin, but a lack of posts from the dev, the utterly crazy diff, and the lack of pool software has killed this coin before it got started.

GL with it, but I doubt it will go anywhere now

Yeah, I'm about to give up too. It's just MaxCoin v2.o -- Why release something when you've yet to have it all prepared. People much rather wait an additional week to have the coin prepared, fair, and the devs not as busy.

we call this pre-mine  Grin

So, what everyone is saying that is when there is no instamine, its a fail?

The diff is silly right now but its still below target - theres a lot of CPU power on this.

I call bullshit.  With 4000 cores by time to block is still under 20 mins.  I haven't had a block in 3 hours when my time to block was 3.5 mins.  That is NOT luck variation.  Something is seriously wrong here.

Are you using the external miner of the built-in wallet miner?

it bug me that no one have give me an advice on how to solve this error in the windows miner:

[2014-02-11 23:40:57] HTTP request failed: Failed to connect to 127.0.0.1 port 2
8332: Connection refused
[2014-02-11 23:40:57] json_rpc_call failed, retry after 30 seconds

are you on windows? close wallet, go on the folder of where the .exe is and press shift with right click and somewhere it says command line here something...

run the program from command line with --server    . sometimes this works for me.

also miner and wallet must have same user/pass

not working for me. thank for the help. I try and yes im on windows.

Thanks this has proved my point.  The fact that I haven't had a block since about block 1000 is indicating that the cloned wallet.dat setup is not working.  What a pain.

I have cloned wallets, and i've found 2 blocks.. i have around 400 cores going.
