Hello

Need to work on design of wallets and make a normal synchronization, blocks stand at ~95%, helps downloaded mainnet base

with the current version of the wallet 1.4.0 there are no problems with synchronization , in version 2.0.0 this problem was solved in the release of rc3  Wink

What about design of wallets?
This is part of the plan in near future?
about the design do not know, and what you are not satisfied with this ,everything is simple and functional , I think new pictures and graphics will not improve performance ,the main thing that inside and not outside  Wink

The top crypto-currencies have beautiful wallets, I would say differently, it's nice to have a beautiful wallet in my pocket, this is important for many people going shopping to the store, as well as clothes and a car, etc..
Technically, I like everything  Cool
Perhaps you are right , the new design would have a beneficial effect on marketing , let's see maybe after the 25th in the new version, the developers will take the time and do the design  Wink

There are 2 ways to solve this problem:
1. Use the stable version 1.4 (it is better to remove the blockchain and download it completely, it is approximately 1.5-2 hours)
2. Use 2.0.0 RC 3, and in the same way, delete and download on the new blockchain.

The problem in one block in the blockchain

Why java
They chose Java because it's a popular language with huge community and reliable networking libraries which is critical for 100 validators being communicating with each other all the time.
If you check the history of commits, you'll see that large part of codebase has been developed by community members. semuxgo started this project back in 2017 and on mainnet launch in 2018 many other Java developers and blockchain enthusiasts joined the project: cryptokat, orogvany, witoldsz, phash, honeycrypto, mdodong.

Why semux is unique
  • as mentioned above, semux is not a fork and its codebase written from scratch. So it's literally genuine software.
  • they developed own modification of BFT consensus [1] which makes Semux faster than competitors like Ethereum: 15 tps vs 166 tps semux
  • semux is censorship-resistant, 2/3 of validators is enough to keep the network live. Imagine if due to escalation of China-USA trade war [2] one of these countries will decide to isolate the internet completely. For coins like Bitcoin or Ethereum this will be a disaster, there will be no transactions in weeks or months due to high difficulty and low hashrate. But Semux will continue working with no issues (unless there is no more than 33% validators in China, but this is not the case - see the map [3]
  • high passive income, at the moment 36% yearly yield; one of the highest in crypto industry
  • according to semux roadmap [4], the project features not only Semux BFT consensus, but also Virtual Machine and On-Chain governance. So Semux took the strongest features of Bitcoin + Ethereum + Tezos and added more on top.
  • No ICO, no IEO, no crowdfunding - in 2019 when every project seeks for our money, this already sounds extraordinary
  • Semux is one of few projects driven by international community, so there is no force in the world which can shut it down like centralised projects baked by corporations (EOS, TRON, ETH, and almost all the other cryptos except Bitcoin).

It's clear about VM and smart contracts, but what about on-chain governance? Did devs share more details about this?
What problems do they want to solve with on-chain governance and how will it be technically implemented?

Semux v2.0.0 Release Candidate #3

Backup your wallet file, wallet.data, and do a full-sync with the network.
This is a release candidate for both mainnet and testnet. The final 2.0 release (to hardfork the mainnet) is scheduled for August 25, 2019.

I think its time to buy some semux, easy bounce from 1k to 5k.

In fact, someone bought 80K SEM in Stex in last few days. Also there been one instant pump to 4000 sats. ASK is so weak now, maybe accumulation is over.

Very nice.
And I have a single question, for now, Semux can handle approximately around 166 tps as you said, so will they improve our current transaction speed in the future?
and what will they do to improve it? (will we change its codebase based on Jave to another thing?) because if we do not find a way to increase its capacity to do the transaction, it is not going to be sustainable if we are only rooting for this to match up with other competitors.
such as waves, for example, they can go for a thousand using bulk-transfers and else.

I think they are going to use VM for a cheaper transactions with lower than 0.005 SEM fee.
Looks like up to some point just increasing of max gas per block can increase TPS:

I know nothing about Libra, but SEMUX is a unique project because they created their codebase from scratch. And they are using java as their base. And 2 years is not too long for crypto because Bitcoin itself has been here for almost 10 years.

Semux v2.0 will hit mainnet end of this month. This release will feature smart contacts engine

https://github.com/semuxproject/semux-core/releases/tag/v2.0.0-rc.2

Big big achievement and huge congrats to the team!

That is good to hear, and has anyone out there tried to use Semux smart contract in testnet before? Any progress or update with the wallet?
because the last time I used it, it took more than 1 GB to complete the sync. It is a lot.

I am seeing zero balance after restoring wallet. Anyway to scan all the addresses to restore balance?
https://semux.info/explorer

how about search all of your addresses on there? there is no other way to find out other than synching it or searching it on blockexplorer.

I sync and then imported the wallet. I see balance on explorer but wanted to vote.

Is there any way to get list of all private keys from that imported wallet with public keys?

If I could scan all keys or get them exported then i should be able to restore balance.
