I managed to create new wallet, but every time I'm trying to start wallet it asks password and when I give it, the whole wallet closes.
I'm using windows wallet, via VM.

Thanks in advance!

Is there an instruction to force the program to update the blocks?

You can delete the database file inside the Semux folder, it will automatically resync the Semux blockchain.

Did not help. I need enter to the program 100 times to start updating the blocks. But when the number of peers reaches 36-38, the update stops and again has to restart the program.

Have same problem. Used beta, rc1, rc2 without problems before and now cannot sync during 2 weeks.

This has been a common issue recently.

  • To fix this problem, please follow the following steps.
  • close any running semux wallet in your network
  • open port 5161 in your router/firewall.
  • delete semux database folder
  • restart computer
  • open semux wallet and sync

PS: If port 5161 is opened successfully you should get 70+ peers. If you are getting just around <50 peers it's possible port 5161 is not yet open.

I did everything right on the list, but it does not help me. Then in the branch I read that keeping port 5161 is not required for non-validator nodes.
So it is necessary or not necessary to open the port to ordinary users?

The question is the same, synchronization is interrupted, and in order to continue the synchronization, I need to go out and go back to the wallet
in a discord on my question to me so no one answered.

Hey guys, is it profitable to mine SEM? Anyone doing it and wants to share his experience so far? To be honest I never mined before but I recently got into it and want to start asap, I just dont know with what currency to start.

There is no pow mining! You can register as delegate and vote to become a validator. Validators need a good hardware and connection. They earn TX fees and 1SEM Blockreward

Where can I get info on mining? can it even be done on windows or do you need linux cli version?

Also is it cpu only?

List of delegates: http://semuxchain.info/delegates/

These machines are part of the BTF algorithm and make blocks.

So i have a really old laptop, IBM thinkpad 2673 Grin (dont clown, that all i can afford for now)with Window XP. Anyway, i downloaded the wallet but its asking for java runtime 8. I downloaded it but it's not supported by my operating system, is there any way to work around this
If you are brave enough, install linux. I suggest Ubuntu. It's free and has tons of support online. Not to mention it runs on older PCs as well.

For older hardware there's Lubuntu which has lower hardware requirements but is still 17.10 under the bonnet.

I have it running on an 12 year old laptop.

I lost my balance when i use my new wallet, what happened ?
Did you copy the old wallet data to the new one? It's in the folder of semux wallet, not on the /appdata/.

my friends got the same problem too...

best way is delete all files generated by old version, then use the new version.... then import your private key!!!

and another problem is sync... the blockchain don't sync.

I think you 'd better to add some Q&A in the topic!
Ok, thanks all , I'll try one by one
