shaft lol, i like the double meaning of the name

Yes, decides not to release a proper wallet to everyone.  Pool says "Miners Online: 4".  Gave most of us the shaft.

didn't even bother trying to mine after the missed launch & no comms as to why (checked at 21:30 gmt)

hmmmm doesn't seem with very promising future this project :S!

they might turn things around ya never know. needs fair relaunch imo though

Absolutely agree that fair re-launch is only hope for this coin.  There were only 3-4 people mining this coin after launch.  I don't understand why the dev would do a ninja launch and fail to release compiled binaries after putting a countdown and stating:

Quote
Idea of Shaft is to provide a perfect cryptocurrency for GPU Mining without any of the governance issues, hacking problems or other kind of non-relevant stuff for ordinary miners.

Does he think "ordinary miners" all sit around with linux compilers?  I'm, sure a lot of you know how to do this, but if this is to be a coin for miners, it has to be mineable by pros and amateurs alike.

shaft optimization and upgrading of the technology is worth looking forward to, no border mining this note is very good, combined with smart contract should be a good project, I hope the project team to do so seriously

"Network Hash Rate: 9.87 GH"

Sucks that most of us miss out.

i dont understand the concept of this coin. miners want to mine and sell one day. if it's meant for miners, who's going to buy them?

The ANN does explain this:

Quote
capabilities of the classical smart contract system and in the future Ricardian contracts will be softly implemented within Shaft. This contract duo system will enable massive possibilities to smart contract everything both in crypto and material world. Just imagine automated world build with smart contracts, that every schoolkid could understand.

The coin is still going to be a useful platform which will drive value, but the platform will be driven by mining, unlike ETH which will likely move to PoS.

Do we have launch? Countdown as ended but see nothing different??

Sorry for the delay! Check out https://github.com/shaftsh/shaft

No compiled release?  Miner friendly coin will only be programmer friendly  Sad

I like this project, want to see it succeed, any chance of providing compiled Windows binary?

Sure we are going to release it as soon as possible. In about two or three days. We will let you know first when we do!

Why will it take that long to compile if the source is already there?

Edit: I don't mean to sound rude, but you're handicapping your own coin if its not adoptable by many people.

We are trying to name things with a bit of time lag in case something goes wrong. There is a high chance it will happen tommorrow, but you can't always be sure.

Gosh I think it's really a shame when devs do things like release uncompiled version for the technical public to mine on Day 1 and then let less technical folks like me wait until Day 2 or 3 to get in.  It obviously reduces the pool of miners.  What's really strange though is that it doesn't actually look like you're mining on the pool.  So I don't think you have bad intentions or are trying to profit for yourself, so why not just wait to release the whole blockchain until you have a compiled wallet on at least one OS?  You said you wanted this to be a miner's coin, but you're letting some miners have an advantage over others if the chain is live right now.

If the chain isn't live and I've misunderstood I apologize, but I assume it is since we're past your countdown and you released the source.

This will have pool right at launch?  If so, would you mind providing config settings for the pool right at launch?  Like:

Quote
Claymore: EthDcrMiner64.exe -epool [pool] -ewal [add] [other settings]
Ethminer: ethminer [settings]

I can figure out ccminer, but these Dagger miners have so many settings I don't get.  Your help would be much appreciated and make it more newbie-miner-friendly, which is part of making your coin miner-friendly generally  Smiley

claymores miner can be awkward if you aren't used to it

the main thing is "-allcoins 1" and setting the right type of pool:

Quote
-esm   Ethereum Stratum mode. 0 - eth-proxy mode (for example, dwarpool.com), 1 - qtminer mode (for example, ethpool.org),
   2 - miner-proxy mode (for example, coinotron.com), 3 - nicehash mode. 0 is default.
