Hey here's something I'd like the community to consider.

If/when the foundation changes the algo and the block rewards go down to 1 SLR per block, I think those who've mined a substantial portion of the coins, or bought a substantial amount should toss between 75-90% of them in cold storage with the address publicly available and listed. I would do this in the mid term to help grow the Solarcoin economy, and I would pledge to not touch the coins for a good while, say the 3-5 years the foundation has calculated the maturity of the coins value.

I would second that - although I fear my SLR holding is not significant enough to make a difference.  What would you call substantial?

I'd say 100k or more is substantial, but I know there are a few with much more than that. I mean this is voluntary, if you don't hold as many it won't have as much of an impact on the overall effect but get many people with a smaller amount of coins together to agree and that makes a difference.

TIA

It's probably not meant for the general public. Inside board room stuff. It's mysterious, I like it.

Yes, it's a news release under development. It's a very significant one, so stay tuned.  Smiley

I just can't stand being in the dark.

 Cool

try: "solar" for the password,
but the article didn't say anything different than what has already been said in the forum over the last several weeks.

Looks like Poloniex is dropping Solarcoin also:

Quote
The following will be delisted on July 20th: EAC, MRC, CORG, ECC, FLAP, LEAF, PAND, DIME, SUN, EMO, SLR
Please withdraw your balances of these currencies as soon as possible.

It doesn't surprise me. Most SLR investors got used to using AllCrypt from the very beginning and we've always had healthy volume there and not much volume on any other exchanges. Interestingly, the recent threatened delisting from Bittrex only caused more volume to move back to AllCrypt instead of people deciding to move to Bittrex to try to keep the coin listed there. The free market is what it is, and for whatever reason it appears most SLR people prefer AllCrypt. Maybe wanting to be a big fish in a small pond instead of one of dozens of low-volume coins on a high-volume exchange? I don't know.

Well you know Allcrypt is the little trading engine that could. The devs there are damn good, quick to resolve issues and even tracking down peoples stolen funds when they got hacked. If they keep adding features Allcrypt will be in the same category as Bittrex.

You cant beat allcrypt.
