I also got sidetracked wanting to first set up an @smartcoin.cc mail server "real quick", but that turned out to be more complex than expected.

Hey guys, I am funded to work almost exclusively on SmartCoin for two months, from now until the end of summer. There is still a lot of learning to do, but some good things can definitely happen.
I got some new hardware, a server machine and a tablet for testing mobile wallets. I am currently restructuring and upgrading the network, the block explorer should be back up soon.

SMART is best as a POW crypto.
Why? Because you just need to print out the priv key and you hold the asset. No staking involved.
But SMART will also offer the (smart) sidechain option of investing in a staking coin that provides interest. TBA.
Later SMART will follow with the ability to buy/spend via SMART phone, if not even on a phone you buy with SMC.

Smartcoin was released at close to the busiest time ever in crypto history, and there was alot of people who were making backlinks to the new coins at the time, and that made the original smartcoin thread have alot of backlinks.
This became a big problem when the original dev departed and that thread was closed, and a new thread made, but the second thread also got closed, and now both those threads have these ugly big links in them telling people that the thread has been moved.
We need to get rid of those two threads, that is the only way I can think of, to clean this mess up.
This is negatively effecting the first impression people get of smartcoin, and we need to try and make a better first impression.
It is almost certain that smartcoin is missing out on significant investment dollars because of those misleading old threads, which do not reflect the current smartcoin.
Smartcoin is a changing, so we need to get rid of that old baggage that is holding smartcoin down.

I just stumbled across this thread, was still holding SMC from initial launch, would have had no idea this coin was still alive or even the same coin if not for the reference to those two threads... so I suggest not deleting those threads.
Badbear was correct in his response to this. Can't just sweep "x" months/years under the rug. Those threads are locked and have links so it's pretty much idiot-proof. People will be asking what happened during that time and if we don't have text to refer to, well, idk.
Addition: If we had a DETAILED timeline (on our newest OP) of all that time, it would help your arguement, bitbets. But I'd still lean towards keeping those other threads. Theymos should be more concerned about extra data storage for these outdated threads, but he's got it under control. So all this only means we must deal with our past accordingly.

I think smartcoin smc is a different project than 'smartpaycoin' .
DACRS, bbs.dspay.org or 'smartpaycoin' are welcome to get involved with smartcoin/smc
and to develop projects with smartcoin smc if they want to.
I created a forum topic sticky in the projects development forum for that.
