You are welcome to promote other coins, or make your own, or whatever. There probably isn't much happening with SMC for another month or so.

On the positive side of things, some of those people might invest into smartcoin smc.


The change of the ticker is only at the exchanges for the display to the public when they are scrolling down in the list, but smartcoin can remain SMART(smc), so the currency acronym is still smc, but the display at the exchange is smart(smc).

I do not know why this is causing such a fuss. Nothing changes for smartcoin at all, but just the display to the public is changed at the exchanges to read 'SMART' in the list, but on the trading page it would say SMART(smc) with smc in brackets.

No changes to the code at all.

The display of SMART to the public will likely result in more sales of coins for smartcoin, is what I think, and smartcoin might be missing out on some big money at times because of it.

cryptsy will only make the changes for the developer of smartcoin, so no point in anyone else trying to get them to change that.
Therefore psionin has to do that. (it doesn't effect the smc currency acronym of smartcoin, to display SMART at the exchanges in the list that we all scroll through to find smartcoin, and there is no change at all to the code, but I believe smartcoin is missing out on possibly large amounts of money because of smc showing instead of smart. it is really a trivial matter for cryptsy to change smc to smart, no big deal, but it is a big deal to us if/when we are missing out on big investments because of that 'trivial' thing)


maybe some people are getting mixed up about two different things?

1- smartcoin currency acronym is smc but also might be 'smart'
2- smartcoin ticker acronym at exchanges does not need to be 'smc' but can easily be changed to 'smart' instead

Smartcoin was released at close to the busiest time ever in crypto history, and there was alot of people who were making backlinks to the new coins at the time, and that made the original smartcoin thread have alot of backlinks.

This became a big problem when the original dev departed and that thread was closed, and a new thread made, but the second thread also got closed, and now both those threads have these ugly big links in them telling people that the thread has been moved.

We need to get rid of those two threads, that is the only way I can think of, to clean this mess up.
This is negatively effecting the first impression people get of smartcoin, and we need to try and make a better first impression.

It is almost certain that smartcoin is missing out on significant investment dollars because of those misleading old threads, which do not reflect the current smartcoin.

Smartcoin is a changing, so we need to get rid of that old baggage that is holding smartcoin down.

There will be problems in the future for smartcoin, I think, with the SMC ticker, because someone is likely going to try and take the SMART ticker, and all of the advertising that smartcoin/smc has done will then be feeding the SMART ticker at exchanges.

That is one reason why I think smartcoin should change to the SMART ticker asap.

Another reason, is because when people are scrolling through the coins list, if they see the word SMART,  it might get some peoples attention(more likely than smc, not many people know what smc means).

Smart, and they stop and click the link to see what that is about, and likely smartcoin gets significant sales at the exchanges because of that.

There was two voting threads and both times, the majority voted for SMART and rejected SMC.

While some people might think this to be a trivial matter, I do not agree at all,
but rather, I think it is very important.

Smartcoin will either take the SMART ticker or lose out big time, in the long term, is what I believe.

Therefore, go along with what the community voted, or else lose out big time.

It is like an ultimatum of sorts, do it(change the ticker to SMART) or else.

ASAP smartcoin needs to have the ticker at exchanges changed to SMART.



I can start another thread for voting about this if you want? We already had at least two threads, (I think there was 3 or 4 actually) and every time, SMART won in the voting.

The smc ticker at exchanges is rejected in favor of SMART.

I will be looking for a different developer if psionin will not do this, it is very important to me and my investment in smartcoin.

Smartcoin needs to fix some issues to become a more attractive investment.

The pie in the sky smartphone crap is not impressing me at all.
Smartcoin has alot of opportunities apart from smartphones, I notice smartphone people are not trampling to buy smartcoins.
So if anyone wants to prove to me that smartphones somehow really liking smartcoin?
Then that should be reflected in a much higher price for smartcoins, and smartcoin needs smartphone apps.

Otherwise, if people are not doing that, then I am in favor of smartcoin at least paying interest in the wallet at a high rate for at least several years, to attract people to become involved with smartcoin.

100% interest the first year for people who keep smartcoins in their wallets, seems fair to me, it would reward people for holding smartcoins, and create interest in accumulating more smartcoins.
The interest rate might be dropped to 45% the 2nd year, and 20% the 3rd year,
and lower after that maybe, but that depends if smartcoin has created other ways to attract investments or not.

In the meantime, smartcoin has been in a state of emergencies for about a year now, with hardly any new investments coming into smartcoin. This is not acceptable for people like myself who have invested into smartcoins. We need to have more investment in smartcoin, simple as that.

If psionin will not do the things required to create more investment in smartcoin, then we need to find a developer who will do it for smartcoin.


We need to know what exactly is psionin willing or able to do for smartcoin, but if we want more than what psionin is going to do, then we will need to find another developer to do that I think.

This sitting around with smartcoin stagnating at low prices is getting on my nerves. I am really not interested in doing that anymore, so something must be done to stimulate the smartcoin economy and create interest so people are buying smartcoins and to make current holders of smartcoins happy too.

I think that 'dump' of 400,000 coins a couple weeks ago is evidence of someone who just got tired of waiting and waiting with smartcoin down in the pits at low prices.

If you want me to change an animation to make it more fitting, let me know, I can probably make small changes, but making these animation is actually alot of work and time consuming too.

comkort is no longer trading smartcoins I think, cryptoine.com got hacked and is no longer trading, but might come back again.

SMART ticker at exchanges instead of SMC ticker


I had a vote at smartcoin.boards.net and people voted for SMART instead of SMC ticker at exchanges for smartcoin.

I also had a vote here at bitcointalk, and people again chose SMART instead of SMC.


I believe Smartcoin is missing out on large investments dollars, because of being hindered by having the wrong ticker symbol at the exchanges where smartcoin is bought or traded.


Cryptsy will only listen to the developer of smartcoin, so psionin would have to ask cryptsy to make the
ticker SMART instead of smc.

smc could still be written in brackets beside SMART on the trading page, but SMART is what people see in the scroll down list of coins.

This change has no effect at all on the code for smartcoin, and there is no need at all to change the code,
at least no immediate need.


psionin? please do what the community wants in this matter, and change the exchange ticker to SMART instead of the rejected smc ticker. It is important.

Finally, I believe that smartcoin is doing ok with a part time developer,

but at the same time, I believe smartcoin is missing out on large investment dollars because of only having a part time developer.

Smartcoin needs to change these issues to attract larger investments dollars.


In the meantime, if changes are not occurring, then smartcoin will remain a speculative buy, and likely lower priced. I cannot see how the price might go up much, unless smartcoin has a full time developer who communicates regularly, and is willing/able to invest their own time and money to further smartcoin goals.

But I remain optimistic that changes will come, and that is one of the goals of my works, is to try and find the people who will make smartcoin grow, if the current people involved are not doing that.
And greater things will be accomplished by other people.

Hello, I'm still busy with other work, however, I expect to be able to focus on SmartCoin during this summer.

It's probably not worth it to make a change to PoS just for the interest and staking, but there could be other functionality related to PoW/PoS that improves usability on the mobile platform. Mobile integration is important, and would be one of the main priorities to consider.

So are you making debit cards for use with SmartCoin, or what?

I had arranged an interview at a bitcoin radio show for the dev of smartcoin, just have to work out a time for the dev and the radio show. To discuss what the devevopers plans are with smartcoin.

I was wondering about making smartcoin pos/pow that pays interest in the wallet? What do you think of that psionin? There was some concerns about the pos blockchain not loadable for smartphones.
Are smartphones that important to smartcoin? On the other hand, I thought if smartcoin became pos/pow with interest, that might get people interested, especially if it pays good interest for 1st year or more.( netcoin is an example, have you considered the netcoin model?)

The logo is the lightbulb, and S ... with a circle.

But you might be on to something with the "Thought Bubble" +logo
say a "concept theme"?

The concept of the lightbulb to indicate an idea, is from comic books.

I Like Smartcoins Connection With Comic Strips and Comic Books
The gif animation is about the historical connection of the symbolic lightbulb being used to represent IDEA'S OR 'EUREKA' OR 'EPIPHANIES' OR 'REVELATIONS' that comic strip or comic book characters are having.
The Smartcoin logo is therefore connected with comic books and comic strips!

The little round white circles going from the word 'IDEA' in the gif, are similar to how comic strips used that to signify a thought or thoughts from a cartoon character in a comic book.
The lightbulb was especially connected with the little round white bubbles going from a characters head to the lightbulb, the lightbulb itself was usually surrounded by a puffy cloud to contain it, and there might be some little lines drawn at angles going away from the lightbulb to signify the light that was being emitted by the light bulb.

The SmartCard concept is an IDEA, so symbolizing that idea in a comic strip, we could use the lightbulb to do that, with the little white bubbles to signify a thought or thoughts.

Smartcoin can easily play on this familiarity with this symbolism, to come up with ideas and represent ideas in comic strip or comic book formats, and alot of people will kind of get the idea of what we are getting at.

Therefore, the comic strip or comic book, is actually co-important with the concept or idea of the SmartCard, and smartcoin has that flexibility to market or get ideas across to people in comic strips or comic books as such.
It is fitting with the smartcoin logo or coin, which is a lightbulb to represent smarts, and that idea comes from comic books which already created that familiarity amongst readers of comic books.

Smartcoin easily branches out to comic strips and comic books, and it is fitting with the smartcoin coin logo which is the lightbulb that has always been used to signify an idea or thoughts.
In fact, that is likely where we got the smartcoin logo from, was from that familiarity created in comic books.


Here is one of the pics I used in the gif, it is the white bubbles which signify a thought or thoughts, or an idea, epiphany, concept, or sudden realization or revelation. The white bubbles go to the lightbulb of course, as they always have in comic books to signify an idea.

I like the Smart card idea.  I would suggest it be the first 'big' community project, and it gives SMC the ability to offer a real physical product, and it is a smart concept.
