If any coin out there needs promoting it's Smartcoin. way undervalued and nearly unheard of. The coin dev here should strongly consider using the services of the post above this one. Anything will help. Set a date for x-11 or scrypt-n and then pos and promote the hell out of it. Work on the ano feature while all thats going on.

Yeah, exactly like Bitcoin was a worthless dog a few years ago, now they're wish they had invested something.
It's pocket change for them and it's a fact they're going into Bitcoin, hardcore, just as I predicted last year, while Andreas was spewing nonsense about banks hating Bitcoin. Lol.
So if they're buying tons of Bitcoin, you guys really think they're not gonna mitigate that risk by buying some alt coins? If nothing else, buying alt coins is a nice and cheap hedge for them, like buying cheap Options to hedge a stock bet. And best case, one of these alt coins turns out to be Bitcoin 2.0 for them.
Either way, I'd be shocked if they're weren't buying up tons of alt coins. And if they are, we'll know within the next 6 months.

I'm seeing these trading algos on a lot of other alts. They suppress rhe price and massively accumulate.
Wall Street money has been here for over 6 months now. If I were them I would buy up anything and everything since you never know when/where Bitcoin 2.0 will come. The good news, if it is smart money buying up all these coins, they're gonna hold on tight [And not sell] which means the supply will be dried up come boom-time later this summer.
This summer Crypto Boom should dwarf the last nov boom but the mother of all crypto booms should absolutely be next year, 2015, led by the Bitcoin ETFs and billions in pension fund inflows.

If they are its just dabbling for fun for them. They move billions a day in funds. Thats more in a day than the entile crypto currency markets value. This is a fuckoff for them if they do play with cryptos.

How about an idea of regular mining SMC for 2-3 days, sell it on Cryptsy and buy votes on Mintpal? I just wonder if this won't cause SMC price drop.

I see some potential in this actually. For now I think everyone should realize that you can vote on MintPal once per hour.
Each vote is worth 0.001 BTC! Ten votes is worth 0.01 BTC and so on. This is pretty significant. We are actually moving up on MintPal slowly but surely. If it comes to donations or contributing some hash later we may do that but for now EVERYONE VOTE! It is free. I have a bookmark for:

How many coins are out right now and how many total coins will there be?
I looked at the specs but they're a bit confusing.

54.3 million total are scheduled to be created through mining and there are 14,591,158 SMC right now.
This should be capped at 17.5 mill max after a a few days of x-11 mining and goes to pos. This will make each coin value worth more. If this coin is to be worth more than even dogecoins it needs to do this. It will create intrest in the coin by announcing the x-11 at 2-5 day (best estimate to min 3 mil coins at 32 per block) mine stage and then pos. After that something along the lines of a fedora coin mixer would work just fine. It doesn't have to be reinvented just practical coin that can be used with confidence and certainty. Just doing this would put it on a solid footing. Then once that is done work on some ground breaking innovative thing while the coin has a nice steady rise in value. It has a great name and can be made pretty solid with pos and a coin mixer. That pretty much puts it on par with most ano coins and such. At that point just get the word out on twitter and other mass media. This would zoom

Well.. To be honest, nothing is happening. The only thing we managed to do with this coin is the block halving..
Actually i dont think we ever did anything for this coin, except hoping for someone else to come do it for us.

Let's organise mintpal voting!
All the pumpers are on mintpal. With SmartCoin so hard to find in large blocks and so cheap, pumpers can take it up 10-fold with ease. Then the devs here have to figure out how to keep it there.
I'll vote for you guys if I end up buying some SmartCoin. Great name, could be a great niche market coin.
