Coin without Windows Wallet? Why are you going with Linux wallet only? You just want to mine this coin yourself?

Is there a way to pull the total of all STEEM in your wallet?

i get blocks now  Grin Grin Grin

but 1 block is 1 steem? can explain how payouts go? where go to and how much?

You will get a chance to produce 21 blocks for each POW submission.  While producing blocks, you also get paid 21 for each POW you include from others.

This means you could get 21, 42, or if you are very lucky 63 STEEM.

I think it's time you find a way to get this compiled for Windows users, you've got enough.

It's only going to help the coin in the long run.  Let us little guys have a chance.

Don't worry, little guys will have plenty of chance later on in the life of Steem.

NextGenCrypto asked if I had a GPU miner.  The answer is no.  I am mining via Amazon EC2 spot instances.

It should be possible to create a GPU miner, but that would require a lot of knowledge of how to implement elliptic curve signatures / verification which is something I don't have.

estimated time to produce is getting much bigger. does mean network hashrate is going up a bunch?

Yes, current work hashes look like 000000176188c0b1e4aa3e5500a1384c93ff345ab48bb2d7238fc63fb3af4f4f

Difficulty target is one in 2^28 hashes 4.46 Mega Hashes per Second to produce 1 POW per minute.

Current Queue Length is fluctuating between 95 and 99 which translates to difficulty of 27 or 28.

A typical i7 mines at about 15-25 Killo Hashes per Second so the current network is mining with about 200 to 250 i7 CPUs.

This is the current miner queue:

I install Boost 1.6 it seems to successfully install but then when I try the steem cmake command it fails and tells me i have an older boost version.  Does anyone know what I am doing wrong?  Like I need to point at the boost version somehow? I know this is probably more a linux question than a real STEEM question but I wasn't successful trying to google it.

Try uninstalling the system boost.
Then set the BOOST_INCLUDE_DIR to point to where the compiled version is installed, you can use ccmake to view/set config properties.

I'm trying to figure out if I should be using multiple accounts. What would you say would be an optimal hash rate for each mining account? And do you have any long term plans for Steem?

If the queue length is 92, then it will take about 92 minutes to move your account through the queue. Everyone should mine with at least 2 accounts.

A typical i7 can get between 15K and 25K HPS which will find one POW every 100 to 150 minutes.

If you are mining with an i7 then I would say 2 or 3 accounts is the most you will need to have no down time.

Thanks. And the last question?  Wink

Is it possible to create accounts if they had not mined? I tried to make a "bank-account" on a separate computer. Any account I try to make it says unknown account.

You can create an account without mining, but it currently costs "account_creation_fee": "100.000 STEEM".  The account creation fee is something that miners vote on.

is it ok to use the same WIF key for few mining accounts?
and to use the same accountname in --witness and --miner ?

1. only use --witness on one machine or you will double produce blocks and lose your account
2. you can use the same key so long as you mine on the same computer in the same process
