Tacee, if you even bothered to read over the last several pages, the whitepaper, or any of the coin's historical documentation, you would have realized your declarations are unwarranted, ignorant, and are based on nothing but naivety. We've already established that this donation feature has been in the code since the beginning, it has been documented, it has been and had been made public, and most important of all, the amount is controlled by the END USER---that means you.
I agree with tacee.once you fool others,it's hard to rebuild faith.

Decentralized communication?  I'm really curious how this could work as far as the blockchain is concerned.  Will have to take a closer look.

Net hash dropped to below 3gh/s already.

There is a sentence in the OP:

"To avoid problems from block halving making mining unprofitable and ensure enough TAC are available for messaging, Talkcoin has a decentralized vote feature so twice per week users can vote to adjust block reward up or down by 10%."

For a start, editing the above sentence reflect "current" voting % is to reward/donate to dev. Then give a firm date when voting will be disabled and what method will replace it. Do these to gain back trust from yr community before it is too late.

nobody will trust you ,Dev,a liar is always a liar,fk yourself and just let this coin die.
in fact ,dev should admit the mistakes he had made, and give us a roadmap of dealing with this issue.we should not shout at each other, it's nonsense.

dev ,you should remove the voting system ASAP if you want a good future of TAC.
The Voting system will kill the Coin indeed.
you can get the 3- 5% of the Block rewards.but you should never get 30% or more of it.
it's so crazy. Roll Eyes

I agree with this view

3% may not be that much in your eyes, but it's quite significant in mine and more than enough to be on the first ANN post

If you don't want the open source developers earn a tiny amount of the total coin reward then vote 0, this is not fixed.

But note than 0 reward, it's also 0 development, 0 effort and no team behind to continue work...

Talkcoin was made so to be a long term project.

You can't have your cake and eat it too, that's why other coins are abandoned by the devs.

I don't think 3% of every block reward is totally unreasonable, however, I do believe it should be clearly stated on the coin's ann page or home page, which it isn't in this case. I do think 30% of every block reward is unreasonable, and I just found out about this today, after holding and mining some tac and following thread for some time.

As to your other point:

That would seem to be largely at odds with the most successful coins in the world, that includes not only btc and ltc, but newer coins such as monero and cryptonite.

I'm not mad. I'm not holding enough to get worked up about it. I just think it's being less than upfront to not make it more clear that the devs get 3% (or previously much more) of all coins generated. It's totally absent from the first ANN page and the homepage. How are people supposed to know?

Anyone with half a brain knows that some kind of reward should be in store for devs. I think people just expect the devs to do shit for free along with whatever people they bring on to developing the coin.

I mean really people, if this was a scam, the dev would have dumped and moved on a long time ago... gesh.

That is what i don't get in cryptos in general .. It is as if everyone else should profit but not the devs.. they have to develop everything but not gain anything extra for it.
3% isn't all that much. Especially since it come with the blocks over time and not all at once .. I rather have this than a dev with 1% of the total of coins from the start,
we have seen often enough how well that end.
I am all for the fees to stay if it mean a continued serious devlopment for the coin.
