Cross-post from the main tag thread:

Greetings TAG mining community!

It's been a roller coaster of a week... hell, a roller coaster of a couple of months.  I've been there with you watching as prices have gone up and down, fighting through the orphans, and trying to keep everyone from completely giving up on TAG.  I'll admit that after last weekend I was pissed.  I felt like I was ready to give up, and I announced that I would be closing down Tagmining for good.

Then things turned around a little.  Mark admitted that he's been absent from the community here, and he was going to make it a priority to keep this community involved.  While mining Tagcoin might not be huge piece of the overall vision of the TAG empire, it's the portion of the business miners can really get behind until the widespread adoption of TAG as a global rewards system.  And while some of us have put effort into spreading the word of TAG, sometimes the only thing some of us can do is mine and support the strength and stability of the blockchain.  There are definitely two sides to the business, and I think Mark and the TAG team now see the value of a strong mining community.  This is evident by the introduction of Alex(@SisyphusEsperanto) to help keep the community in the loop.  From pool ops, to miners, to day traders, and yes... even the hoarders, we all play a piece in the future of TAG.

Over the last week or so, I have been in communication with Mark via PM and email to discuss how things can change for the better in the community.  We've talked about how we can get TAG back on top by making it a stable coin with an even stronger mining base once again.  So we came up with something, and I hope it really helps spark some interest in miners again to come back to TAG, and make this the community that it can be.

So without further ado:

Tagmining.Com is now the official pool of Tagcoin!

Tagmining will be reopening bigger and better than ever!

Mark asked me what he could do to help give back to the community through Tagmining.  I told him we need to run promotions to get miners interested in mining again, and that he would need to fund the effort.  Without hesitation, he said, "Do it!".  So from now until the end of the month:

Tagmining will be giving away a 1TAG block finder bonus!
If pool funds start to increase due to pool fees and donations, we'll up the bonus until we reach a nice equilibrium.

Every weekday this month, I will announce a "countdown block".  The finder of the block 20 blocks after the "countdown block" will get 10TAG!

Tagmining will start it's jackpot back up!  Every Saturday, 3 lucky miners will win their share of 100TAG!
Jackpot rules and info can be found in the second post of the Tagmining pool thread found here: https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/anntag-tagminingcom-is-now-the-official-pool-of-tagcoin-324938

Those of you who have mined at Tagmining know that I pride myself on making sure the miners come first.  With Mark backing Tagmining as the official TAG pool, we can do more to make sure miners are taken care of and happy.  Whether that's things like planned bonuses and rewards, additional pool nodes to help localizing mining, or even just staying as active as possible to ensure miners have a voice- Mark and I will do everything in our power to make the TAG mining community the community the best it can be.

That's our promise to you.

Thanks for all your support, and here's to a new beginning!

I'd appreciate anyone vouching for me as well, it might push the whales to make offers.

Thanks, guys!

Awesome Dabs, the 270's really can hold their own in the right setup. I'm going to evaluate undervolting mine sometime soon to see what they can do.

What are your settings for that last setup? Mainly engine, memory and TC.

I tried tweaking the 270X and I can push it to 510 kh/s.

Has been stable for at least 5 hours.

I'll plug in the rest of them and try the same settings.

Veggie Crate Rig 5 GPU Sapphire 270X

Here's a pic of the almost assembled rig. All it needs is a home. This one belongs to my brother. He doesn't understand a thing, so it will mine to my address, hehe. Then I pay his electric bill.

The fans will be properly mounted a bit higher than they are in the pic.

I finally got 1 rig with 5 GPUs. They are 5 Sapphire 270X. So using the settings from the non-X, plugged them in, swapping cables and risers until they all worked.

This just means, some of the riser parts aren't working, so I'll do a few more tests and return them for replacement.

Then I'll see how far I can push these. I got one of them going past 500 kh/s once, but a minute later the whole rig just stopped. I think I was up to 1170 or 1180 gpu engine, 1500 mem.

Fuse, I also feel like we've all been taken for a ride with TAG.  I'm glad that the problems came up before I spoke to the people locally I had in mind who may be able to use such a thing.  At least I have some TAG RFID cards to remember the drama by.  Might frame one Smiley

It's just weird that everything was great up until the first POS block was found (if memory serves, I think that was the start of the issues).  Right now TAG is down about 70-80% from peak and 20% from its recent average.  Without a stable functioning network, I don't see how it can be viewed as a safe means of value transfer for any purpose.

All TAG specific issues aside, thanks for running one of the best pools I've mined at.

As far as other coins go, perhaps I'm just caught up in the gloom of recent happenings in the crypto world, but I'm not seeing anything exciting on the horizon unfortunately.  I've just been hanging out on the Scrypt coin to BTC pools and banking the coin for now.

I have a miner that needs reloaded tomorrow.  I really wish there were better voltage control options for Linux.  Windows does seem to like to randomly crap the bed.  The power settings module appears to have corrupted and now I get video scheduler BSODs when it goes idle(or tries to).  My half assed work around has been to put the mouse on a shiny surface to keep the computer active but even that fails periodically.  Win 8 appears immune to the mouse jiggle apps unfortunately.

Sucks what transpired with TAG but frankly, after mining sha-3 for the last few weeks, scrypt just needs to die. Sha-3 is soooo much easier on my rigs, freaking love it.

Anyway, you are certainly one of the top pool ops I have had the pleasure of working with.

Reflect your sentiment regarding Fuse... best pool operator I know of.

Mind sharing which SHA-3 coins you have been mining?

I have been mining MAX exclusively, which unfortunately is in a massive tailspin. I'm in 'set it and forget it' mode currently so I am not sure what other options are out there.

7950's 1080/50 undervolted
7970's 1100/100 undervolted
270's 1100/90 locked voltage

I don't know what my power draw is but I'm guessing it is significantly less than scrypt.

FYI... I will be creating a general thread for the CripToe mining network.  Everyone is welcome to continue conversing here about anything, or you're more than welcome to chat in that thread when it's up.  One thing I loved about this thread was the wealth of information everyone brought to it.  I would like to see that continue with CripToe's thread.

I want to personally thank all of you as well for all the support you have given me over the last few months with Tagmining.  If it wasn't for you, we wouldn't have gotten as far as we did.  It's the reason I am so upset about this whole TAG thing.  This pool was really for all of you.  The fact that I couldn't control more of what was happening with TAG was really frustrating.  I can only hope I see some of your names pop up on my future pools.

Thank you everyone.

Per the main TAG thread:

Tagmining will be shutting down completely.

I have disabled mining.  If you have coins on the pool, withdraw them ASAP.  If you don't have your coins withdrawn by next weekend, don't be pissed about the pool shutting down with coins pending.  You have been warned.

Mark,

I have supported you and your endeavors since launch.  I've been a huge supporter of TAG(Everything), and TAG(Everything) to come.  That being said:

I'm going to get a bit critical of your last comment, because it honestly just showed what I've been worried about for a while now.

At this time, I believe you don't care about this community.  To assume that community is just here to hoard coins and wait for the pump and dump is asinine.  Most of the people that have been here backing you were here because they appreciated a cryptocurrency, backed by a solid business model, that held a steady value.  The only reason I held coins early on is because I was holding for POS, which turned out to be faulty anyway.  When POS failed, I sold as soon as I mined.  Since the 1.0.3 update you have faded.  I'm not sure why.

People are putting a lot of effort into spreading the news about TAG.  I have written almost every tech blog I can think of(numerous times) to try to get some publicity.  I have purchased, sold, and given out TAG RFID cards to try to spark interest here in the states.  I have tried to hold the community together while you were absent because you didn't "want to argue"(or you just didn't care to).  I have sunk $1000 in personal money back into Tagmining to try to offset the hit by the orphan problem you let happen... and you let it happen.  I know I'm not the only one here that put time and hard earned money into supporting your project.  It is a community... so why aren't you a part of it?

I recommended that, if you were busy, you should assign someone in your office to be the community liaison.  It's a solid idea for someone who is as busy as yourself.  Why won't you do that?  Even if they're here to spread anti-fud and address community concerns about your disregard for us.  Why can't this happen?  Why do we always have to wait for the same post about the services over and over from you?  The post that never addresses any of the technical concerns or questions we have.

Why would you update the code and put "letting older clients connect... for now" if your thoughts now are that older clients are causing the orphans?  Why wouldn't you stop that immediately?

Why, when you thought POS was the issue, and you've said time and time again you don't like hoarders, would you continue to use POS?  Maybe it has something to do with the 75k+ coins you told me you have?  You don't want people to hoard coins because you want them to sell them to you so you can hold for POS and collect even more.

You said that your dev team is really one coin dev, and that the rest of the team does a bunch of other stuff.  Fine... I'm ok with that.  In fact I like that you have a solid team where each person has a different subset of skills.  But why wouldn't you have your coin dev post in the forums when these issues came up?  You told me he's created a dozen other coins already on the market.  List them.  I want to see how many of them are actually legitimate coins, and how many have been involved in scandals.  If he's created a dozen other coins currently on the market, he's obviously involved with the community here.  It smells really fishy that he would have been so involved with the creation of that many coins in the past, but he has not been involved with this coin's thread at all.  And why would the github code only be updated via your account?  Why is there no activity from your dev in the github?  If he's created coins, he's used github, so he has an account.  Produce your dev and the list of coins he created.  Let the community investigate his credibility.

At this time I believe you're playing the community here for fools.  Stringing them along and using them for their hashes to pad your pocket.

I will not be a part of it any longer.  I urge others to not waste their time or effort on this coin any longer.

Hey, I got some pictures for you. Vesper, I think this will interest you also. (And you didn't reply to my PM, so I don't know if I can still do that, but I can try, if you're interested.)

A dozen Sapphires and a couple of motherboards. I was not able to get the ASRock BTC mobos, even the store has it on "pre-order", WTF, hehe.

A vegetable crate. Cheaper than the one I got last month by half a dollar.

1000 Watt 80 Plus Platinum PSU

All pictures turned into black and white, cuz I like desaturating in my paint program, but the platinum psu looks grey scale anyway. Unlike the gold one, it has gold colors.

This power supply looks identical to the gold except for the nice word that says "platinum". And it's 50 watts less, but it's more efficient, so it should turn out the same as 1050 watts that is only gold rated.

And, it only cost me $30 USD more, and I was forced to get it, because the store does not have any of the Gold ones I previously got last month.

Great, VarDiff!  Thanks, mate!  One correction, though- it's currently 2% fees.  I corrected the original post to proper percentage.

Mining has resumed on Tagmining.

I'm not announcing it in the main TAG thread yet, but if you'd like to start mining again, give it a shot.  Vesper and I have looked at a lot of fixes and code changes over the last couple weeks, and I believe that things should run smooth now, even with orphans.  However, only time will tell, and I'll never know unless I get things up and running again.

Let me know if you guys run into any issues.

Who wants to buy some POT from me? I need to buy some powered risers and I don't think the guy in Taiwan will accept POT, but he will accept BTC. I need about 0.4 BTC.
