It seems to be crashing much too often in the past few hours, so I restart it and set the Core speed a bit lower, or set the intensity 1 down.

Right now, I = 18 and 1135, 1500 for 470 Kh/s. So from 1.9 Mh/s it went to 1.88 Mh/s. That's probably a good compromise for stability and here's hoping it won't crash anymore.

*edit*
On second thought, this might be a temperature issue. I'll need to investigate on this a bit. In any case, if it runs too hot, I will have to slow it down so it runs cool enough.

Now down to 1125, 1500 at 480 Kh/s but back to Intensity 20.

I copied the cgminer.conf settings. I took out the flash drive. I stuffed BAMT 1.3 back to it. Put it back. Turned it on. Edited cgminer.conf to be exactly the same.

Now my hash rates are back to "normal".

I'm just going to dial down either the intensity or the core speed as 1150 is just a bit tad too high I think.

Congrats Dabs.

Heey Guys.

I have my Asrock Pro BTC. Now im looking for a goog GPU. What do you recommend as a good PSU??
I was thinking of a 1200 wat PSU sow must be enough for 5 R9270 of 280. What do you guys think??

280X's pull up to 275w each, not sure what 280's pull, I'd wager close to the same. No way you can run 5 of them on one PSU. You'd need at least 1500w for that.

If I were running 5 gpu's, I'd be wanting to run 270/270X's. You could put those on a 1050w PSU.

Strange. Because i had 3 hd6990 running on 1200 watt with out a problem.  And those cards are real energy users. But i gonna look further for a good psu

What would you guys suggest for a x6 280x rig?

I was planning on having 4 cards and the mobo powered by a 1200w and then the other 2 cards on a 650w. I feel like the 1200w might be overloaded though. Any suggestions?

I could purchase an 850w to power 2 cards and the mobo and have the 1200w just power the 4 cards, which would make me sleep a little better at night lol.

I could always use VBE7 and flash the gigabyte BIOS to lower the voltage, a little but I have never messed with that stuff before and don't want to wreck an cards.

270's do seem to be the card to choose... I am getting 1.5Mh/s at 670W... hoping to trim that by 50W... but still not as efficient as 270's

That's really wide spacing, LOL! I think I'll have to space out mine a little bit more when it moves to its permanent home.

Watt Meter shows 650 ~ 670 watts for my 1.8 ~ 1.9 MH/s (R9 270s doing 455 kh/s each). I'll try to bump up this speed using the older BAMT, but this one actually seems more stable now.

Finally got 4 GPUs working. Replaced the riser. Replaced the part that plugs into the slot. Replaced the USB cable. Replaced the SATA power cable. Plugged it in. Now it works.

So, I'm not sure but maybe I might have a couple of defective risers. I'll do more testing at home.

On the other hand, I upgraded to Litecoin BAMT 1.5 and the hash rates went lower with the same settings. I'll rewrite 1.3 and see if that improves, maybe it's the Catalyst driver versions.

I'll mess with it in a bit and see if moving them around works. But I had 3 running fine, and I think they were all right next to each other (via the risers). Oh, wait, one 1x has another 1x beside it. I know the 4x slot works cuz that's how it was used prior to having the risers. I'll move one card over and see if that fixes it.

But then, that would mean, my motherboard can't handle 5 GPUs, only 4, unless I get to the BIOS (and I'll need to connect a keyboard to it.)

Can't quite tell how you have it configured there Dabs, but the first two things that come to mind... on some motherboards, there are a pair of 1x slots next to each other and one will be disabled when the other is in use.  You could try moving the PCIe connectors around.  Another thought since you are using powered risers, make sure all the power connectors are tight.  Maybe one of them isn't getting power from the riser.

I second the vote on Seasonic.  Very happy with mine.  For mining purposes, I think single 12v rail is mandatory.  Multiple 12v rails seems like asking for trouble.  I think I lucked out with my 1600w LEPA.  I did have to move a couple things around on one to keep it from shutting off.  It has six 12v rails.  4 x 30A and 2x 20A iirc.

AFK.MPEG, for PSU, I recommend Seasonic. That's what I have, and I think vesper has the exact same 1050 watt PSU.

@everyone else, I can't get my motherboard to recognize the 4th GPU. It hashes fine with 3. I'll have to do some experimenting to find out if anything is busted, or if I need to change some BIOS settings.

Dabs Rig with 4 GPUs

Any tips or clues or whatever I need to do appreciated, although I'm going to be trying something, maybe swapping them around to see what I need to do.

GPUs are upside down. I will secure them permanently once I get them all working properly. I might do a vertical orientation, or a flat one, or something. Or maybe make it look like everyone else's veggie crates.

Motherboard is supposed to be able to handle 5 GPUs.

Specs:

Seasonic X-1050 1050W 80Plus Gold Full Modular Power Supply
AMD Sempron 145 2.80GHz P1,350

Sapphire R9-270 Dual-X OC 2GB DDR5 Boost
Powered Riser USB Style
AData USB Flash Drive with Litecoin BAMT 1.3 (sgminer 4.0.0) ... have 1.5 on standby if needed, but this one works with 3 GPUs right now.

and a bunch of veggie crates.

I got my risers. USB 3 types. I plugged it in, then set my GPUs upside down, and they are all hashing (only 3 so far, I lent 1 to my brother in law.)

One got sick, so I dialed down the settings to 1145, 1500, but still using older BAMT 1.3. Haven't had time to upgrade to 1.5 but I'll do some testing soon as I already downloaded the image file.

Is there a thread for your other pools? or is it okay to discuss potcoin here? hehehe.

I haven't really made a thread for the pool network yet.  I'll work on it soon.  I've got a shitty situation on my hands right now, literally lol:

I came home late last night to the plumbing in the house being messed up again.  I spent like 3 hours working on it, snaking pipes, replacing wax rings on toilets that were bad, and the water in the house still will not drain.  So I'm without water essentially, as there is no where for it to go.

So give me a day or so and I'll create a thread for the pool network.  In the meantime though, you can discuss anything here, mate.  We do anyways lol.

What's going on right now? The pool is offline, my unconfirmed balance has disappeared, and the blocks all show as orphaned... Missing about 40 tag right now.

Yeah, the TAG network is having issues again.  I have posted about it in the main TAG thread.  You're not alone, mate.  I'm down about 400TAG right now that I will need to put back into the pool to get payouts started again.
