What I understand is that there is two devs working on the masternodes currently. No set date has been released for deployment of the addition. You can see some of the stats of the coin at: http://trade.cryptocronic.com/stats/

It should be three devs. Mark said that he is now working with another dev (which we never had seen a post yet...) plus some unknown dev which might be forking away if he succeeds with masternodes, who knows

windows wallet still shows "No block source avaliable" "0 active connections" Is there some way to synchronize windows wallet?

Same issue here.

Yeah the wallet doesn't have any hardcoded seed nodes.   You need to enter some manually to get it connecting.   Try going to the debug console from the wallet menus and type the following:

addnode node.cryptocronic.com add

You can also create a tradecoin.conf text file in C:\Users\\AppData\Roaming\tradecoin\  and put a list of nodes like:
addnode=node.cryptocronic.com
addnode=104.251.218.157:12499
addnode=185.188.6.8:12499
addnode=198.12.70.154:12499
addnode=45.33.42.71:12499
addnode=45.79.201.204:12499
addnode=51.15.164.53:12499
addnode=66.228.57.25:12499
addnode=78.179.130.1:12499
addnode=83.169.7.202:12499
addnode=84.29.56.160:12499

Hope that helps.

It did. Much oblige!

i must be dumb. where can i find the windows wallet?

You can find the windows wallet here: https://mega.nz/#!52h3EDDa!vbFM5sdzpl6XntuQeYlUGb7a3c9uX2CaKjmXE5cxK-E
It's the same link as in the first post of this thread, there is also a virus scan from virustotal

for me, this just goes to an empty cloud drive

That's because it was just picking up everything up to the '#' as a URL.  Try this: https://mega.nz/#!52h3EDDa!vbFM5sdzpl6XntuQeYlUGb7a3c9uX2CaKjmXE5cxK-E

I'm good at the the technical side, but not that good at marketing, so we all have some areas where we are stronger than others.  Grin

PoS or PoW runs alongside masternodes - you need PoS or PoW for the main part of the coin's network and to create new coins.

A masternode is where you run a server to support the coin's network and you lock a fixed amount of coins (30,000 for TRADE) so that you cannot spend them while the masternode is running.  In return for locking the coins to enable you to run a masternode you get regular payments for it providing this service.  These payments are a share of what is generated from PoW/PoS mining.

I've started a managed masternode service where I set up the technical side for you, but you own and control the server that your masternode is on (optionally I can provide a regular monitoring and update service for the wallet and server).  You keep the locked coins in the wallet associated with your computer, so they are never on the masternode server (and you'd never send them to anyone else to hold).  At any point, if you shut down the masternode and unlock the coins then you can spend/exchange them should you wish.

That is awesome! I understand this coin needs a few masternodes.... I found a few VPS's for $5/mo which could be a MN. What do you recommend?

Can I put a MN behind a CDN like Cloudflare to protect it?

Cloudflare is probably an overkill for a masternode.  Masternodes usually need little resources, so even the cheap VPSes should be fine.  If you have a choice Ubuntu is usually the preferred Linux distribution for people running masternodes, although I use Debian for my (non-masternode) servers.

Thanks, I have no idea what a MN is TBH... Everyone talks about them but not sure what to do about it.

I can easily help with marketing/brand, help get the coin out there, improve the website etc...
I have enough coin for a MN, but what do I do with it? Is this PoS instead of PoW?
