I wanted to give a quick update on what the dev team has been doing. We just posted a blog post about it (https://medium.com/@umbrellacoin/dev-team-update-week-of-august-6th-f5fa9afa60cf), but I'll give an overview here.
Our prototype is advancing nicely as we've changed the layout, user flow, and added more functionality (like voting) over the last week. We're still deploying regularly so you can keep up with the changes almost daily (http://staging.umbrellacoin.meteorapp.com/).
Second, we've decided to rework the crowdsale, slightly. We played with the idea of doing a pre-sale, but we've decided to make it simpler. We will be extending the crowdsale to two months (August 20 - October 20) and will provide a bonus of 2x exchange for the first 5000ETH contributed. This helps us reach our minimum goal, ensures development can continue, and incentivizes everyone to get in earlier. If you have any questions, please ask.

Quick dev update: we've been pushing new versions of the client daily and are making UI tweaks along with adding new functionality. We had a good whiteboarding session yesterday discussing the user flow, page contents and starting some integration work. We're having a "hackathon" this weekend, so hopefully we can deliver you folks some good added functionality. http://staging.umbrellacoin.meteorapp.com/
We are potentially wiping server data between deploys, so please don't be surprised if policies or claims you've created have vanished

yeah same, found a few blogs but not much else. dev team seems active but I'd like to get more opinions. I wonder how much they're marketing it. Do you guys think it has a chance to be big?

I'm just curious how voter influence will be determined. Will there be a system implemented to reflect that of Augur, or will it solely be determined by how many tokens you hold?

Agreed with you this team is doing hard job and that is nice update to know about the current progress where that project is. I also think this project will bring nice solution into insurance market which will be much faster and very responsive.

This reinstates my confidence in the product. Lots of these coins have absolutely no devs and no intention to either, but the fact that you guys have actually went ahead and have a prototype for us to see with almost a month to go makes me consider to increase my investment from the initial goal of 25-30 ETH to maybe 50-60 ETH. Hoping you guys can deliver on your promises and make insurance system more navigable.
