Here is where we are... The original developers left, but now we have taken over and have new developers. That is a big 180. We will add a working Mac wallet this weekend, this is a fundamental piece that was always missing. We are just getting our heals dug in for some great enhancements. The management of this coin has put a high priority on transparency, which is going to be key to this success.

Watching our wallets staking is great, but we'll make an effort to put some to work out on Bittrex!

The guaranteed way to prevent that is to mine the heck out of Chunkypool port 9999.

(I'm not affiliated with Chunky, though I am something like 60%+ of the volume on the exchanges through mining there

I keep about 100-150 MH pointed there pretty much constantly.)

I was on there with you but its way too hot out to mine these days. I am hoping for a cold front to pass soon

The Mac wallet Universitycoin-qt has compiled, I am going to run it through its paces for a couple days.

Universitycoind compiles on the Mac also, but not quite as exciting to see.

Hello all,

The last couple weeks have been spent securing the code, building development environments, and building of the module to parse the UVC blockchain into a database for some reports. The Windows and Mac development environments have been a little tricky. UVC, like Bitcoin, is based on libraries and toolsets from a couple years ago. If you are like me and grab every new version and upgrade that comes down the pipe, you will have headaches retrofitting these in. I am one library short of compiling the latest code into the Mac wallet. Like Alec I work on this a few hours a night, and like Alec I am in this for the long haul. I really enjoy working on this and I am looking forward to expanding the UVC dev team. We have the foundation setup and are ready to really start coding! My goal is to make UVC very appealing and useful for anyone that is wanting to use this technology on a day to day basis.

) but software time frames can be hard to estimate, thanks for your enthusiasm!!!

Thank you Alec for resurrecting UVC from certain death. Do you guys need help building a mac wallet? If so I could set up a dev env this weekend and start contributing mac builds.

I was thinking of pulling my coins from the exchange to stake and noticed we have no mac wallet. I would think most students have macs too.

We apologize for not being able to so more in that week or so but we do have full time jobs and social lives. I still am devoting around 2 hours a day to this currency. Along with the work I am also doing research in order to best give the community what it wants.

The point of this release was not to wow you all with miraculous changes, but to foster your confidence that we indeed have control of the code and have the ability to make changes over time.

things need time ... and most new and not 10+ years devs make the mistake of setting to early releasedates.

And i dunno if the dev can work fulltime on the code ... so 8h sleep and 8h work makes ~4-6 hours of coding possible and thats without social life.

An other way to handle the communication of progress is to be more frequently in workstep updates and that includes problems and rollbacks improvements and bugs ...

Software developement can be very frustrating ... if u want epic read about the heartblead story of openssl ...

Well a daily short update as a kind of diary cant hurt ...

This coin has imho a moon boom fimeframe aka real saturated value development cycle of at least 2 years till peak value ... IF successful in beeing useful to students ... so be patient ...

Like the guys who keept BTC post the 30$ hype crash ... look at them now ...

Much has happened in the last week and we have exciting news! Our first update to the Windows wallet has finally come. Our dev team is doing the final testing and we will have the download up by the end of the weekend.
