just downloaded voot wallet from mega. windows cant open vootcoin_tor_win.rar
so now what i do?

Rar is a compressed archive like a zip file, so you will first need to download and install 7zip which can extract rar archives. http://www.7-zip.org/

ty pleiadian. so have extracted files. what next?

Looking back at the OP the wallet is in zip format and it extracts the wallet. You will want to download the wallet from the first post and then create the config file also in the OP. I am not sure where the .rar is from, or what it contains. I do not use windows, sorry.

"it" didnt extract wallet. downloaded as .rar. i used 7zip to extract. now open vootcoin_tor_win and there are some files. tried clicking on vootcoin qt and hoping for best but no joy. what should click on or is it first to create .conf? where ?

Let's Start over again

1. Delete the rar and everything that was extracted
2. Download the windows wallet from this location https://mega.co.nz/#!QkcHEJYS!s9e03O7FntPcASdDE6I3OlsDcvC_4ZzGyzB-CL5i6Ms
This is a zip file instead of a rar and when extracted will produce the wallet app
3. Configure the application so it can find peers as described in this post https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/m.7691357

Hope that helps!

Holy Shit is there allot of drama in this thread. People here have no clue what it takes to develop software, let alone the technical challenges of developing P2P, trustless, and anonymous software. At this time it appears that I bought high, and am at a loss until the market is released. Up to this point the SmokeProject and MsCollec has delivered and will continue to do so. +1 to the devs of Vootcoin

Delay is okay, keeping quiet is okay.

What we are mad about is:

Dump before delay, not delay before dump Grin

dump may be caused by impatient guys

Or good traders shorting stock.

bunch of babies getting mad tonight because they didnt get rich today

relax and let the devs do their thing, fighting with them over if someone really had health issues isnt going to help. take a chill pill
+1

As much as I like this coin and this team...do not be too naive. Always ask questions when things dont add up or make sense. And there are a few things that don't add up, as eluded by some members.

You do know the health issue isn't the dev, nor the dev's friend, but it's the dev's friend's friend right?

Why should one be impatient before the Anon Exchange Announcement time?

Maybe because someone who has a friend is sick and needs quick cash so he dumps his stash.

The reason why there is no one to be put in place is because we do not want others to look at the source code or handle it any capacity and the team is based on TRUST. How would the news be if source code was leaked and someone else picked it up? That would be 100x worse than a delay. If the code is not protected the community and the coin is not protected.

1. The release was supposed to be today, so there can't be more than a day or at most two days of work left?

2. So, is the delay now just to wait for the dev to be emotionally ok to continue to finish it?

3. IF there is more than a day or two of work left, the delay would have been known since last night then and why wasn't this delay possibility told to MsCollec?

Think you missed my post and went onto answer some lesser specific questions.

Unfortunately, missing a deadline with no warning does more damage to your reputation than delivering on schedule a few times.

This is why you want to provide warning at the soonest moment you see you might miss it.  It's to *your* benefit to do so.

If you miss a deadline by surprise, no matter what you say, many will see it as excuses.  It's not necessarily fair, but it's how it is.

Again, it's to *your* benefit to provide early warning.

Agreed. And according to the charts there were well over 2m coins dumped from 1800 to 1300 (or in that range) well before the delay was announced. That's what is fishy to many people including myself. Hard not to call insider trading.
And I am a believer in this team and believe MsCollec as a very good dev, but this situation couldve been handled better. If a team member got sick, notify the community beforehand, unless he/she literally got sick an hour before everything was about to be finished and released, which still sounds iffy. In any case hope he/she feels better.

I'm starting to doubt the success of Voot project, with such disastrous workflow developers, a release VootCloud or VootMarket will never complete.
If you can not have a even for limited time finished product AnonExchange....

Professional Advice - Do you have a finished product, then just set the release date.
Did you see VootCoin at the start? If not, your confusion is understandable. If you did, don't know what your problem is

Reliably when such situations occur as today. Cheating starts and tortuous excuses, when execution capabilities beyond developers.

We released TOR integration 3 days early you cannot bring execution capability into the dimension when we already have a track record for solid work that we have delivered. If we show flexibility for you it's only fair you show the same sort of flexibility. Where is the cheating that you speak of?

With the information that someone is sick does not wait until the last minute, when the product is be released.
Has such knowledge informs the community before.

They are far from the worst developers. Waaaay far from even being put into that category. Patience is key, if you don't have it. Don't expect to survive in crypto

ok, could give even the date of publication AnonExchange for month later or... and then there is no problem.

Term, it is very important! you could end up before but not later.

Let's see a positive thing, the first btc38 voting champion MED was listed on btc38 on 3rd of July(Thursday), the second round voting champion EAC was listed on btc38 on 3rd of July(Friday). The third voting champion will be VOOT and will it listed on btc38 next Thursday or Friday? We will have larger market soon.

PS: btc38 is the largest Chinese alt-coin exchange, better than bter Wink
