I hope is much more secure at least as mintpal, but well even a safe exchange like mtgox if the admin turns out to be a complete asshole and create the biggest scam of "being" hacked anything could happen with this new exchange.

Could we get a link so everyone can get on, kick the tires and see what we're talking about here? That will help people make decisions when we can see that this is a real functional project.

May I ask what language it is written in? Please for sake of good code and everyone's sanity, do not say PHP. Preferably a web framework from this decade 
It is built with PHP and HTML. PHP was chosen for adapability and a due to it's historical significance a large amount of security flaws are already exposed.

UPDATE:
I just received an update from SMOKE devs.
The exchange is now 100% complete and ready for launch.
However, we as the community need to make a few decisions next.
We need to know if we're willing to elect community members who can help manage it OR if we should let SMOKE team manage it and pay them a "consultancy fee" to do so.
We are also looking for investors who may want to invest funds into trading on the exchange.
So far, trading has not yet been enabled. I am asking if I can finally share the .onion address to the public. Will update again shortly.

First off, great work Jeff and especially regarding contacting your dev friends.
Second, what are the qualification needed for managing the exchange/voot team. I have lot of free time in coming months.

I am willing to invest a percentage of that into the exchange for trading, as well as donate to the new competant devs, as well as invest into SMOKE team to manage the exchange. With that said, I'd much prefer we elect a collection of individuals to manage it. Not that I don't trust SMOKE, but centralizing the decentralized is sort of...wrong. We need power in the hands of a few trusted individuals rather than 1 entity.
And those individuals should not hide behind the anonymity of a nick...

Agreed. Please state any member names here that you wish to elect to help run the exchange. These individuals must be trustworthy.
