The devs should not concern themselves with price manipulation.

pnosker did move 200k VRC to Cryptsy as a program buy wall to hold the price in the 30's during the Mintpal fiasco.

isn't that some form of manipulation?

are you saying the Devs should no longer do this?  because it appears he may have stopped.
That cannot be true. How somebody can put a buy wall with VRC as a buy wall could only be done with BTC?
you'll need to ask pnosker on the details, but i do remember seeing him say it in IRC and/or here in this thread, that the 200k wall was to save VRC (during the Mintpal theft).

They should not concern themselves to the public about it. The prices will always be volatile, why should the devs make a statement each time something happens with the price? They should not concern themselves with us here on this forum when it comes to this current price manipulation.

This is the alt world, volatility comes with the territory.

Well, I agree Devs should not comment on price.  This is something big companies have learned to say on Wallstreet.

However, since the Dev did use a buy wall to keep the price afloat in the 30's during the Mintpal fiasco (a form of price manipulation), it's just natural that the price would drift where it naturally would be without such support.

Does any one know if pool payouts are delayed? My last payment from the pool was 7/21.

Same here, last payout was 7/21, a few others in IRC have said the same thing and devs are looking into it I hope.

If you look at the BitcoinWisdom front page, you'll notice that VRC is one of the few coins that is in the positive side for the last 30 days (+35,20%, second biggest rise out of only 6 coins rising in a 30 days period).

- So, what is the big deal ? Why are people complaining so much right now?
- You see, VRC is not rising 200% in the past 30 days.

There might be a problem with your expectations folks.

devs are interestingly quiet.. almost like they want the price down.. in order for it to go up? something up in their sleeves

If the devs stay quiet until something is actually released it will help the longterm price of vrc instead of people in it just for a quick flip.

Instead of all this frontloading of shares and dumping on any good news vrc price would just steadily go up and not look like dev manipulation if a policy of not pre announcing was taken.

Preannouncing only attracts traders that buy for one reason only, dumping on the actual event.

Edit- In fact if no news is preannounced and vrc drops much lower I might actually buy back in and buy more over time.  I, personally, was in vrc because it looked different then other coins that were out that always followed the same patterns and then disappeared.  If they stopped with the aiding of the pump and dumps I would be back in myself, but need to wait and see.

Haha... I'm sure it'll bounce sharply but right now I'm 100% out of Mintpal punishing them for their poor coin handling.

Therefore, I can't trade, and 100% BTC.

Is anyone around the Bitcoin Center in NYC, that has some time to promote VeriCoin before the party?

Can we organize a giveaway of VeriCoin around the city leading up to the event?

Perhaps use social media to tell people where to go, or hints about where the free VeriCoin are? We could place some paper wallets with like 100 VRC in them each + instructions on how to download a wallet, ect.

I would contribute to the giveaway if anyone would be willing to do this. The rest of the community can help with small donations, and by using twitter, ect to promote the giveaway. Maybe we get our story picked up, maybe not. Regardless we can educate people about VeriCoin in the Financial hub of the world.

This is a opportunity that we need to use to create brand awareness. A giveaway leading up to a VeriCoin party at Bitcoin Center seems like a logical way for a community that cares to show we are 1 step ahead of the game. That we care just a little more than the next coin, that we will work just a little bit harder than the rest.

I thought you were "done" with VRC since the price fell  Roll Eyes Grin

Look again, I said I was done with this forum, and I am. Sorry I had a great idea that I thought was worth sharing. The reason I am done, and for GOOD now, is responses like what you are doing right now. People have a way of sidestepping progression on this forum and attacking others. It's a great idea I said I would help fund, and the only response is that of a troll. After this response you just affirmed why I should not have even posted something positive like that. Anyone with good ideas is shot down for some reason instead of trying to build it up. A community will never grow with a foundation of assholes like has been posting for the past few days - weeks.

I will hold VeriCoin no matter what until a team comes that can do "mainstream" better. As of right now this is the only game in town so I support it. Though I will not speak again, you are right. I will preserve sanity over messing with the kiddies who want to turn this into a forum full of people who wish to bring others down.

People like you Leckey, make me want to sell out everything I own and move on. You know I am looking for support making a VRC faucet, You HAVE a VRC faucet. I LINK MY WEBSITE TO YOUR FAUCET Yet you will not help me make another one for the community because it would be competition for you. Not only will you not help me, you chose to attack me.

So its better I just not look at this forum, and all the wonderful people who post here.
