This whole mascot thing is just spam intended to get people to visit and register on that exchange. VeriCoin does not need a mascot; it's a bad idea that will only hurt the value of the coin. Please don't forward/retweet this mascot silliness.

I vote no way. That mascot looks retarded. And btw. It is a gimmick. They are all over talking about it. Just do it and give us a better looking thing than that if they cared.
Its a stunt, and its ugly. If they are watching. Fire that graphic design artist, or whomever pulled that stupid looking monkey up.
VeriCoin would be best served continuing to brand the VeriCoin V in my opinion.
Like a mastercard, or visa, Business doesn't want some silly monkey. Keep it clean like what the symbol is for now.

I get the whole cute, funny, adorable thing. However when I think of VeriCoin.. we mean BUSINESS
If we are to be taken seriously, I am not sure this is a great idea. We do not need mascot, furry bears, smoke and mirrors etc.
What we need is a clear business model the one we have, keep improving the image, reach out to Business leaders, Media Publications.
Execute the ideas we have, SMS, Credit card integrated wallets, Mobile Wallet (Android, ios ) new website, promos, word to mouth, marketing, PR.

Hi there I have been staking for several days now. And maybe have got .4 VRC from 2300 coins. It keeps saying 1 day till interest is earned? Any ideas as to why?
With 2400 coins, that doesn't sound TOO far out of line. I'd expect no more 0.12 to 0.14 per day.

I think Pat addressed the idea of a staking wallet in the last hangout. Not feasible (now).
Edit: Primarily because of the storage constraints.

That mascot monkey looks like a disorientated test animal that escaped from the laboratory after a 3 months amphetamine experiment. I wouldn't bother with mascots.

I think he has lost his phone before and with wallet open that Could be a nice find for a potential thief.
Well if that was what he was thinking, he's an arrogant moron, as unlocking your wallet for staking does not unlock it for spending. Your phone could be stolen and, as long as you did as you should and had created a backup key, you would just download a new wallet and import it.
But, sure, maybe there was some *really* smart reason why he posted his smart-ass answer. I could be wrong, it has happened on occasion.

I would tend to agree. People associate the mascot's traits with the item it represents. I don't think the monkey is the right fit...
