I remember last summer,
I was putting my money to Xencoin and where is this fucker now... I lost several thousand USD.....
they were promising the same - a bank, lending , etc and it turned out to be a scam only, the developers premined 5%, sold it all before bank should appear and then went gone with money

since that time I don't like promises like this and I am very carefull about all altcoins
all is just pump and dump for developers

What were the first and last names of the Xencoin developers and where did they go to school? Where do they work now? Do they hold any patents?

This isn't Xencoin.

Hey Forrest!  That's what you get by handing your money to a Developer who purposely remained anonymous just so he could rip you off.  Anyone who buys the coins of anonymous devs deserves to lose it all.  Sorry for the harsh words but as you can see I hate scam coins which is why I LOVE VERICOIN!

I'm a big fan of this coin, but the hype in this thread is starting to be a bit ridiculous.

Thread-puller extraordinaire

Whuh? What on earth makes you believe that VRC is offering a bank or, for that matter, lending?

VRC is p2p coin with additional features that add value, there is no bank aspect to it.

Are there any VRC faucets? I been looking for a week now to find one and no luck.

Its not many people yet, but a few are checking out the FreeVeriCoin.com site and It would be nice to help get them to a faucet.

I have one at http://vrcfaucet.visitbit.com/ - I loaded it up with 900 VRC last week and it's all gone now, so faucet is dry - nobody donated to keep it alive.

Filled it up!

Ahah, thank you pnosker!

Not a pump, it's the truth. The underlying centralization problem will be fixed because both technologies will be incorporated into the wallet. The team is also solid, Microsoft OneDrive software engineer and two Ph.D. candidates in computational biology/engineering as opposed to randomcrapcoincloner17 with mad coin coding skillz.

LongTerm Capital Management had 2 nobel price doctors and they lost all money............

centralization and big expectations is bad

so far its classical pump and dump again

What if VRC reaches 1,000,000 satoshis before summer's end?

Maybe if developers fulfill all their promises.
And if people and market will like this coin and adopt it.

How many users it has so far? one hundred or one thousand maybe?
I think now it is overpriced, there is no need for this coin to be expensive in comparison with bitcoin. If it drop down back under previous price I start to think to buy some, Not for this price

Not to sound too terribly insulting here...but you are nuts. In case you hadn't noticed, VRC is now almost a pseudo-substitute for Bitcoin. Once people start putting two and two together, this is going to go bonkers.

Personally, I don't think 1+ mil satoshi per VRC is an "if", I think it is a "when".

Comments like these are generally a solid indicator to sell.

This coin is severely undervalued, not overpriced. Did you miss the train or something?

Nice pump!  Grin

Yes exactly for someone who minted shitload of this coin during initial week of course any price is low.... but for me ( I have 2 btc) this is not good price to buy at....

During due diligence, institutional investors will want to know who the developers are for transparency, the sake of accountability, and competence assessment. They will want to know the first and last names of the developers, their past work and education history and current projects. A photograph of who the developers are would be nice too. This is all present in VRC. This coin has a lot of potential because of this.

Quick question, I am new to staking. I started last night, and the time to my first interest payment has decreased by about 7 days in 14 hours or so. Can anyone explain what the process is used to determine the length until payout?

This is defined in the file bitcoingui.cpp in the qt folder of the source.  The way it's defined is as follows:

        unsigned nEstimateTime = nTargetSpacing * nNetworkWeight / nWeight;

        QString text;
        if (nEstimateTime < 60)
        {
            text = tr("%n second(s)", "", nEstimateTime);
        }
        else if (nEstimateTime < 60*60)
        {
            text = tr("%n minute(s)", "", nEstimateTime/60);
        }
        else if (nEstimateTime < 24*60*60)
        {
            text = tr("%n hour(s)", "", nEstimateTime/(60*60));
        }
        else
        {
            text = tr("%n day(s)", "", nEstimateTime/(60*60*24));
        }

nTargetSpacing is 1 minute (the blocktime).
nNetworkWeight is the current network stake weight.
nWeight is the the amount of coins you have eligible for staking.

So essentially the program estimates the time required for staking by looking at your coins, determining which ones can stake, and dividing it by the total network stake weight.

Thanks for digging into the code.  So is staking per address?  If all your coins are in one address, does it just speed up the interest payments?  I would assume the amount earned should be the same whether staking in one or multiple addresses.  Can someone confirm?
