Is there some bounty for promoting this coin? I am a website developer and can create websites in a flash. I also did that for silkcoin, like silkcoin(dot)nl (don't want to spam the shitcoin). Is there a bounty list for promotion?

Try: http://coinbounties.com/vrc-vericoin/

...and suggest some ideas for bounties, too!

I also stepped into VRC with a few btc. But i have to admit...not much info on their website about the coin itself. Yes, the innovation is there, but no road map or something. Can it be found somewhere? Of course i can read this 211 pages topic, but as an investor it would be nice if there was a sort of white paper to read quickly whats the coin all about.

But from what i could see, the innovation is very nice and unique. Personally i think it is very low valued right now, so that is why i stepped in. I am a long time investor and hope i have more luck then with Silkcoin. That was a sick road to hell Sad

I very much agree with you. As for me, this the only coin I invest, willing to invest more and I like everything about this project, community and of course the developers. It seems a really vibrant initiative and I guess the coin has a huge potential. I hope the community and the stakeholders take our comments about the lack of user friendly documentation/help material constructively. (If the info is on the 193 page then such a massive document is not user friendly help material).

When you don't want ThreadStakeMinter, add:
Stake=0
..to your .conf file.
It will stop from mining PoS blocks.

That make sense. Thanks for letting me know. We should put together a tutorial or help documentation.  There is no way inexperienced users like myself figure out these settings, I did not even know there is a .conf file. My understanding was from this thread that the community aims a wide adoption of the coin. Wide adoption would require people new to the crypto currency universe and they need a better documentation or explaining how to use the software what is what on the UI.

you are wrong for the simple reason that hype to 27k was a pump and dump group who left the coin after moving to the next one. whales  didnt expect this coin to recover so fast and for sure they didnt buy but  mean while real progress has been made with this coin and this rise is a normal steady rise  wich has nothing to do with pump and dump scams. im reading all day  5 coins threads ( vrc,xc,cinni, crypt and drk ) and what i noticed is that a lot of new people joined the VRC community: 1 fresh example is jackthepanda, a big supporter of XC. this rise has nothing to do with whales

here is my logic:
XC went up to 480k sats. they have 6 million coins.

so VRC  26 million is roughly 4 times that.
this coin seems to be superior, and judging by the fact that people like it as much as they did xc,

i think 100k sats is a fair normal  price, but I think 50k within a few days is a more appropriate, conservative estimate.

the main thing i like about this coin is the distribution, according to the richlist there aren't any monster holders who can control the price. that is good.

You couldn't be more wrong but I'm sure a lot of people think like that.

You must be a qualified expert, can you please enlighten us with elaboration?

XC went to Mintpal and people had many issues getting their coins onto Mintpal to sell. People were waiting hours and all day for their coins to show up to sell. Since there was little sell pressure whales could easily pump the price. Eventually the devs fixed the block chain and the price collapsed.

You claim the distribution is good. The early days of VRC was the price around 60 sat. The mining was quick. There was a pump on bittrex and then the wallet issues start. The price collapsed and people gave up and started selling. The price bounced between 800 and 1000 while the whales tricked people into selling. That means that all the weak hands that mined or bought sold since they don't want to hold a coin that went down and is staying under 1000 with issues. Eventually everyone that sells does. Now the whales caught all the cheap coins and hold a lot. The dev comes out saying everything is OK. Then the pumpers take over and get the price back up. Price hits 5000 and goes on Mintpal. People start selling from 12k down to 6k and more weak hands are out and their coins in the hands of whales. Price gets pumped to 27k and more people sell from 27k to 10k and the whales catch more coins. Price goes back up and the remaining people hold because that's what they were doing the whole time and the whales buy up sell orders. Now people are buying back in with less coins and when they sell it doesn't make a dent in the price. The large holders see the potential and don't sell. Soon everyone will be selling their other coins to join in the VRC mega pump. In the end the rich list may look good but know that a small amount of people hold the most coins.

Where is some info about the staking of VeriCoin, how to stop the interest staking, etc?  Right now the "Unlock Wallet" menu item is disabled, how can it be enabled again? I can see on my wallet the figure next to the "Stake" label, but this amount is not spendable. Will it be spendable again if I unlock the wallet? I could not find any help file in the wallet nor how to use it.

You need to encrypt your wallet if you want to have the option to unlock.

Yes it is encrypted and locked, as I said it is staking right now. If it wouldn't be encrypted then it won't be staking. My problem is the "Unlock Wallet" menu item is disabled, how can it be enabled so I can unlock it? I am a software engineer but I am confused from the UI ... a help file/wiki or any help material would be nice.

Your wallet is obviously NOT locked if you are staking as it is IMPOSSIBLE to stake with a locked wallet the unlock feature is greyed out because your wallet is already unlocked

Ah :-)))) sorry about the incorrect description I have given, mixed up to describe the lock/unlock state, so yes it is unlocked and currently the "Unlock Wallet" menu item is disabled. The question is still, when the "Unlock Wallet" menu item will be in enabled state again, which would stop the staking if I understood correctly. Or once it is encrypted it remain unlocked and will stake forever until there is coin in the wallet, it is not possible to stop the staking?

FEATURE Requested:
Pnosker, can you add 'Total Isolation Mode' to the wallet when staking our coins? The way a whitelist firewall works, applying the most hardening of all so we're sure all ports are blocked EXCEPT the application one's for staking purposes. No surfing whatsoever or data in/out else would be possible that way. This feature would come in handy only when you install the staking wallet on a separate PC, for security purposes when we hold a large amount of coins.

Also yes your coins will become spendable again after a "cooldown" period of 510 Confirms I believe

Thanks, that's good to know!

Just bought my first Vericoins yesterday at 20k.  I wish I had bought them sooner, but oh well.  At least I'm in.

i bought them at 1000, sold them at 14k stupidly even donated 16000 to the fund, lol. am back in though as i see it doing great things.

Your donation helped us get to where we are today. Thanks for helping us out.
