lol I feel stupid, I've been so concerned with tweaking my 290's that I somehow thought my other card (bought used) was a 7850, when in fact it's a 7870 OC lol. So now it's running at 1300/1500 with intensity 20/raw intensity 1048576  and getting 2.3-35mh/s  Shocked This Gigabyte is a beast.

Can someone give me a conf for 290 reference board?
I use the conf for my tri-x but it runs low at 2.0mh/s on my friend's 290 reference board.And it hangs after 10 minute.

configs shouldn't change all that much between ref and aftermarket boards, only the clocks will. I would check what drivers he's on.

Which OS? Try changing drivers, I found I couldn't get anything stable with good speeds on 14.4 or 14.3 with Windows 7. I'm back to 13.12 drivers now, and working great. Use Display Driver Uninstaller from here http://www.wagnardmobile.com/

After getting the drivers back to 13.12 I tried using multiple threads and it did give me about the same speed as I'm seeing now, but much more variance in current hash speed so I switched back to a single thread and here it is now with the constant 1500mhz mem speed after 12 hours.

Settings:
Code:
setx GPU_MAX_ALLOC_PERCENT 100
setx GPU_USE_SYNC_OBJECTS 1
export GPU_FORCE_64BIT_PTR=1
##export GPU_MAX_HEAP_SIZE=50
del *.bin
timeout /t 4
sgminer.exe -k x11mod --rawintensity 1306624,1306624,1306624,33280 -g 1,1,1,2 --shaders 2560,2560,2560,1280 -w 256,256,256,64 --thread-concurrency 24577,24577,24577,10241 --no-submit-stale -c sgminer.conf

Reject rate is well within acceptable limits, but I'm going to try it with 5 threads for 10+ hours to see if it does in fact lower the amount of rejected shares or give an increase in the overall average speed. Thanks to everyone for sharing their tips for these cards.

[/quote]

OK. I gave up on my 5 threads idea and dive into only 1 with your suggested rI. Going nice and smooth at 4.2MH. Let's see how it settles, but it's a go. Two things I noticed: the suggested "export" lines in a .bat file in Windows do nothing (unknown command error) and if you quit MSI AB you get a hash increase without loosing the card settings. Just tick to apply on boot in case your rig reboots unattended and check for AB to not run, once in a while. Power at wall still jumps between 480 and 550W (can also be seen on GPUZ on 12V load line).

To sum up: 2 x ASUS R9290DC2OC 1080/1500 Powertune +50 (with MSI AB set and close), AMD 14.3beta, Win 8.1 Pro, Elun B2 sgminer, NRD settings = 4.21MH/card @ 1 hour.

Thanks guys.

Stock? I'm guessing 3.5-3.7mh/s depending on which 290 you have. Interested to see though Cheesy

Ive scanned the last few pages, seems to be a lot of 290 questions, Im having trouble with my 280x's 2MSI and 1 ASUS on BAMT. Trying to get x13 running.

Ive installed the miner, and put in the settings from the original post, but it only mines for about 5 minutes then all 3 miners go SICK and stop mining.

Any advice? This is all that is in my config file, besides the pools:

Code:
"intensity" : "16",
"vector" : "1",
"worksize" : "256",
"kernel" : "x13mod",
"thread-concurrency" : "8192",
"lookup-gap" : "2",
"gpu-engine" : "1200",
"gpu-memclock" : "1500",
"gpu-powertune" : "20",
"gpu-vddc" : "1.200",
"gpu-threads" : "2"

Hi, I'm on BAMT 1.6 so whatever stock drivers come with that, and my cards are not over/under clocked or whatever, everything's stock. I will still try the settings you listed and let you know what comes of it.

1080/1500 +50 power limit in MSI Afterburner.
[Edit: Actually check that, it was at +0% all night. I just turned it up but didn't have an effect. I'm thinking it could be that because I enabled unofficial overclocking to get the mem speed stable, power limit doesn't matter anymore? Either way, clocks remained 1080/1500 flat lined all night.  I'm really new to AMD cards so I'm still trying to pick up the ins and outs, can an AMD guru chime in please? Cheesy ]

[Edit-1.5: Answering my own question, I believe power limit doesn't have an effect because it I enabled "unofficial overclocking without power play support" in AB so either I have yet to reach a power limit on these clocks or "UO wo/ PPS" in Afterburner disables it.

[Edit-2: I'm wondering if windows 8.1 could be the difference in the speeds we're seeing, I know that my gaming rig with a 780 in it benefited enormously moving from windows 7 to 8.1 in BF4 but I thought that was just because of dx support and didn't think it would affect mining . . .]

What's your core speed at? Also, what powertune value are you using?

1050/1500 set with MSI AB, AMD 14.3beta, Win 8.1. Kindly read the last 2 pages of this thread as there was quite a debate about how/where to set the clocks and other miner params.
how come your cards are stable mines even crashes at stock clock.i get 4.1mh/s with this win7 x64 same clocks cata 14.4

14.4 was a no go for me. crashes. use DDU if you plan on changing drivers.
powertune = 50!? I had the impression is max 20.
gpu-fan too low, either set it 100 (if you don't have a closed case or you carry risers) just to be sure you don't have thermal issues or let sgminer handle the fans.
start with 1 gpu-thread and increase one at a time, or just leave it at 1.

they never pass 67c they are on risers.iwll try 14.3 do you increase voltage from AB?

edit:installed 14.3 seems working thanks!
