I have a quick question: if we are attempting to direct people to Counterwallet to use for the first time, should we send them to

https://cw03.counterwallet.co

or

https://www.counterparty.co/

?

Thanks in advance.

It's best to use https://counterwallet.co as that serves as a "dispatcher" for available CW servers.
CW03 has the new code, but soon all CW* servers should have it. However if your referrals are related to some new CW functionality and you need to do it *now*, then send them to cw03.
If you think they should get some idea of what Counterparty is about and they don't like to read:
https://www.counterparty.co/videos/

Thank you! I appreciate it.

We're setting up beta.counterwallet.co, which will be the dedicated counterwallet beta system shortly.

We're going to put up some over/under lines for the final BTC raised in the Ethereum IPO on BetXCP. Does anyone have any guesses as to what the final amount might be? I want to try and get a couple reasonable options up, but am unsure what the general opinion is.

Hi guys, we've put a preview of the upcoming version (1.4.0) on https://cw03.counterwallet.co/ ... feel free to log in and give it a spin. Please report any bugs you find on the forums, on the skype chat, or to our github bug tracker.

...

5. Bug? "Lowest ask price" under "Buy [TOKEN]" - isn't the the highest bid price shown? And vice versa on the sell form.

...

...
5. I can not reproduce. Maybe orders overlap: I put a filter to fix it.
...

E.g. for LTBCOIN/XCP:

In "Buy LTBCOIN" form : Lowest ask price   0.00051282   XCP/LTBCOIN
In "Sell LTBCOIN" form : Highest bid price   0.00060313   XCP/LTBCOIN

Lowest sell order : 0.00060313
Highest buy order : 0.00051282

oops! how I missed that! fixed:

Hi guys, counterwallet will be going down for about 30 minutes, while we rebuild the counterblockd database. This is necessary to fix some balance bugs that certain users were getting.

EDIT: cw01 rebuild has completed. Counterwallet balance issues should be resolved now.

Has the message signing compatibility issue in Counterwallet with BitcoinQT been fixed in the latest release ?

Cheers

Attention (cross-post from official forums): We should be merging v9.33.1 of counterpartyd into master tomorrow afternoon (EDT), and forcing an upgrade to it by block 312500. This upgrade includes some very minor changes to the API listed in the CHANGELOG.

You know it's a good thing when people start forking your work.  It has taken a while, but now random people are simply cloning Counterparty and throwing a new name on it.  This happened first with Bitcoin, then with Peercoin (copying POS mechanism), most recently with Darkcoin (copying anonymity features).  Kind of surprising that it's taken so long to clone Counterparty, and I expect that there will soon be a lot more clones (probably every "major" altcoin built on the Bitcoin codebase will have its own native Counterparty clone before long.)

For those who haven't seen it already, here's Viacoin, which is a new Scrypt blockchain with 24-second blocks and Counterparty forked on top under the name "ClearingHouse".  Basically, Viacoin's sole purpose is to provide a base for ClearingHouse.

I'm trying to build 'native' counterwallet for mac, using node-webkit. (I like native style app icon sitting in taskbar looks sexier and more functional)

It works fine from remote URL but trying to use assets served locally gives a problem on login (generation of seed is fine) -- it basically just stays at this page
Do the devs know how to build counterparty into small webapp, will some native build ever be possible/released? I'm not a programmer whatsoever, possibly it's a few minutes job.

Planned to make a chrome App very soon..

You made me know node-webkit, and looks great thks! I will play with it at the first opportunity!

Very good  Smiley

I gave it a try. Here are my notes:

1. First page with twelve "Top pairs", "Select another pair" and "All pairs" is very intuitive and quick.

2. On the second page I'd personally prefer to move "Price history" down below orders, but most users may prefer it the way it is (?).

3. The order forms look good and are intuitive.

4. Bug? When I chose a new pair from "Top pair" the amount and total were not reset.

5. Bug? "Lowest ask price" under "Buy [TOKEN]" - isn't the the highest bid price shown? And vice versa on the sell form.

6. I like the idea of the price for market order pre-filled in when the form loads, and that I only need to click on my balance in bold orange to fill in the rest.

7. I'd like the price to be filled in in both order fields when clicking on a price in the order book. E.g. I click on the highest buy order price, and it means either that I want to sell at market price or buy at a limit.

8. Possibility: When I click on highest buy price, the filled in price in the buy-form could be this price plus one tick. It makes sense when making a limit order to go higher than the current highest bid. However, this may confuse some users, so I recommend sticking with the description in #7.

Thank you for this great feedback.

2. I think yes.
4. fixed

7. done
8. I agree, this may confuse users.

I have no idea if it works or not, somebody posted earlier that it did not work, I assume in the test version.

This is at xcpfeeds.info, not Counterwallet.

Are you referring to the wallet at xcpfeeds.info? You can't copy and paste your 12 words as one string there.

Anyone who is having this issue should file a bug report, and we'll get it fixed. Maybe it is an issue on one or two more browsers...

There were some issues reported on the mobile android browser, for instance. We haven't had time to add full support for that, but things seem to work alright on Chrome for Android.

I am not sure if the pass phrase copying issue is a bug or something that is permanant, but If I can't copy over my 12 word passphrase on Counterwallet.co, that is a deal breaker for me. I don't want to use an offline wallet, and there is no way I am going to retype 12 words just to login each time.

Copy and paste into the passphrase window should work. If it's not working for you, it's a bug. What browser are you using?

Also, we are adding a feature into the next release that allows you to produce a link with your (AES) encrypted passphrase attached to it, such as:

http://counterwallet.co/#U2FsdGVkX18jgB3A2XqnaBHpelqd+rVUE/9FHE7cHkCP3gpNXOxzhM/FDNKclYAdNcSLfKPKvi+vEx/yjhWVVQ==

The encrypted passphrase is never sent to the server (since it comes after the '#' in the URL). Instead, Counterwallet will display a dialog where you enter a simplier password (which you will set, and which will be used to decrypt the passphrase itself). This will make logging in as easy as pasting in your special login URL (or using a bookmark), and then typing in a shorter, secondary password that you set yourself. However, you'll still get the full security of the 12 word passphrase, and it won't force us to hold any extra data server side, AND, if someone saw your URL, they wouldn't be able to access your wallet without knowing your custom password.

More info on this: https://github.com/CounterpartyXCP/counterwallet/issues/291
(the above link includes a demo of it at carbonwallet.com, where we got the idea from)
