I'm not technically savvy, is there documentation on how to import XCP from blockchain.info address (used this to burn) to the web wallet? Do you recommend this or should I wait until the web wallet is out of testnet? Thanks!

I just wanted to point out Vtalik Buterin's gold nugget of a comment concerning 'smart fees' being implemented into the Bitcoin Protocol.

“It’s the protocol’s fault the OPRETURN battle is such an issue. In an ideal world, the concept of ‘abuse’ would not even exist; fees would be mandatory, and carefully structured to closely match the actual cost that a given transaction imposes on the network,” he says. “If you can pay the fees for what you’re doing then you should be able to do it, no questions asked.”

And from one of the Bitcoin core devs, a less optimistic outlook, as quoted by freedomfighter yesterday:

This is a fundamental incentive problem with bitcoin today, and the parasitic use of the block chain as a publication system for Counterparty, Mastercoin, etc. is exacerbating the problem without any attempt to provide a solution. If and until the incentive problem is fixed (it's not clear it can be!) these groups should be doing their transactions on a separately validated side-chain, so only those users who opt-in to running the side chain incur the cost. Hopefully using 2-way pegging so their currency can be bitcoins, if they want to avoid the scummy currency issuance investment model.

Here's in case you wanted to take the conversation on the topic of OP_RETURN, Counterparty and what should and should not be allowed on the blockchain to a wider audience.

https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/are-stagnation-and-a-hostility-to-innovation-bitcoins-greatest-threats-543181

Realistically, I don't think this is going to help at this stage.

I agree.

what do you think will?

Engaging the core developers privately, in a positive manner, over a medium to long period of time. This is not going to be solved overnight, but we are getting closer to a solution. Phantom is in communication with Mike Hearn, we're hoping to get X on a call with Mark, and if any other core developers are out there and have input on how Counterparty can be less of an "issue" for the devs and the Bitcoin network, we'd love to hear their suggestions as well.

I thought this was a great post and a step in the right direction: https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/m.5937979

Do not know where to put the question elsewhere:

Can somebody explain me (like I am five) why bitcoins cannot be taken in trustless escrow on blockchain. will it ever be possible to do that? for example i read that http://bitcore.io/blog/articles/cosign-our-multisignature-wallet-in-development/ will build a user-friendly multi-signature system. as a non-developer I was wondering if one could not use(or abuse  Grin) multi-signature in a different way as trustless escrow?

Counterpartying

Matt, do you promote this on reddit and whatever other platforms?

You're free to post it on Reddit if you like, as is anyone else.

I don't have any plans to post it on Twitter as Counterparty is only mentioned once, at the bottom, while other coins are actually discussed. I contacted the reporter to let her know we are available if she requires information for a follow-up story.

So you would send me the Gold via post mail. Did I get that right?
How do I know that you have the gold?
And you also provide a BTC/1ozGold price feed? What data is that feed based on exactly?

Answer1:
We don't send you the gold. Our system is setup that gold goes directly from the gold seller to the custodian. We never touch your gold.

Answer 2:
With our special custody agreement, you can conduct an independent audit on the gold in custody. Again, we never touch your gold. It's in professional, bonded, insured, guarded custody.

Answer 3:
We will provide a feed on spot gold. I just need to figure out how to do that on Counterparty, but it's not a blocker to trading your gold coin on the DEX.

EDIT: Super Thanks for these questions, l4p7. I will add them to our FAQ right now.

You are welcome. This is a good practical application to understand Counterparty Wink

What advantage (fees?) do you have from doing this service?

Is there some kidn of trust rating within Counterparty? So that if you come up with a silver Trust in 2015, how do I know that this issuer is actually the BitcoinTangible guy that issues the XGold in a trustful manner since Spring 2014? Some kind of private key authentication?

Further feedback: Apply high industry standards: (More) professional website, publish independent audits from a industry standard audit company frequently on your website.

Edit: And I would remove the big BUY NOW buttons that are twice on the homepage, one right below the other one  Huh Looks scamy (subtext: Buy fast (give us your money) without us explaining you first how it works and what the service is). A "buy now" button should be subtle but visible and not twice right next to each other!  Other than that, a great service! Smiley

Counterparty adds important functionality and features to Bitcoin that will further to its penetration to mainstream adaptation. A solution is better found for this in a friendly and cooperative manner.

Counterparty was the world's first trustless decentralized exchange, and especially with centralized exchanges collapsing around us in the past quarter, there is no better and greater need than BOTH counterparty and MSC establishing their presence on top of the BTC protocol asap

Etherium is not there yet and NXT is young and both are not tested. BTC is and is the leader. But it must stay vibrant and continue to rapidly evolve to keep market share. working together is a win win for BTC core devs and CP's.

too low!!!

So at the end of the price is a good time to buy, at the end of the price also can invest!
Good luck.
