I've been monitoring XCP for a while now, accumulated heavily while waiting for EVM release. Then all of a sudden we get this massive spike in price right after Devcon. Insider info? Pending EVM release? So I decided to only sell a fraction of my holdings at the top (0.011).

I sure do regret that now. EVM is the biggest catalyst for XCP price there currently is, but it's in the hands of one lone guy in his basement who's currently stuck trying to decipher Solidity and generally lacking "the time and energy" to complete it.

Oh well.

Cool story bro

Would it be possible to know if the ethereum machine will be available on testnet before December? Would like to free up some extra cash for christmas not available before the new year. Thank you.

There will be an update coming out later today on the progress and you can view past updates as well at: http://counterparty.io/news/

It seems likely that it will be out well before December, but making predictions on blockchain tech releases isn't the business I'm in. I'd suggest joining the Counterparty Slack channel, reading the updates, and trying to make your own determination.

Sorry I can't be more specific!

I'm going to try out the Counterparty API for my 1CO. This looks promising.

Can we calculate the scalability then? Like calculating the XCP inflation rate against the burning costs for deploying a smart contract on top of Counterparty. Would be interesting to know.

From your link:

The first thing that comes to mind as the simplest solution to the "XCP running out" problem is to set a gas rate that's directly proportional to the remaining supply with the lower limit set to 0.00000001 XCP and rounding to the nearest 8 decimal places.

What will be the starting price then? How much XCP is needed for creating (1) a short and (2) a long smart contract?

Thanks a lot! Smiley

I don't have answers to much of this, however, XCP is deflationary not inflationary. The supply only decreases and no new XCP will ever be made, smart contracts will only speed this process up.

...I dont understand one thing, if xcp will be burn for gas the EVM and no new XCP are going to be created it means than XCP supply will decrease until 0?

What does this mean? Will there be EVMparty token which is burned from xcp?

XCP will be burned to power smart contracts and prevent spam, thus decreasing the total supply of XCP over time. There will not be a new token that's burned in place of XCP. It's just XCP being burnt to execute smart contracts.

Is it confirmed already that XCP will be used for EVM gas and burned?

Hello party people! XCP is one of the most amazing prooven project with no single problem to this moment. Practicaly can handle ETH work and there are gaming on it's blockchain. To hit 10 USD or something like 0.02 BTC it is only a matter of time. Everyone is free to decide how is going to handle it. But all we know there are other not so efficient currencies on higher price.
Bah last time I bought I lost it by my or indiewallet´s, can´t know. I´ll eventually get more but that pissed me a bit and I hope there is enough time to buy xcp for everyone.

Xcp - mature projects (sjcx bcy fldc ltbc), interesting new projects (bitgirls Japanese TV show, orb, blockfreight, force of will--the 4th most popular trading card game in the world with a movie coming out), low coin supply (2.6m), deflationary money supply (no mining, only burning), active community, interesting tech in active development ( micropayment channels, smart contracts), based on bitcoin (btc security), new exchanges (zaif in Japan, innocoin app), awesome wallets (too many to name)

Plus xcp has a very low market cap--only about 16m dollars AFTER recent run to .01. also some of the oldest most respected names in crypto are supporters -- ver, antanopolis, Adam Levine... I'm riding counterparty to .05

How is bitgirls related to XCP? I thought this was a NEM ( XEM)  related project.

With NEM (XEM) you can only buy Counterparty Bitgirls Tokens but you can't vote with NEM?

Every Torekabu token can be traded for bitcoin, ZAIF Counterparty tokens and XEM, the cryptocurrency of the NEM blockchain. Instead of issuing a dividend for the tokens, investors will have voting rights called “hyou.”

All tokens are to be issued on Counterparty, and ZAIF, bitcoin and XEM tokens will be accepted during the crowdsale.

Volunteers who aid in localization efforts will receive Torekabu.

I want to get in...should I???  Huh

No don't - there are only 2.623 million coins.
 Kiss

I would wait it out personally. Glad I got in when I did...could dip into the 300k-500k range then buy range again for me..

This seems to be some good news, http://www.prnewswire.com/news-releases/symbiont-to-demo-smart-contracts-for-insurance-300323706.html

Although interesting, I have not seen xcp mentioned in that article
