The development on the EVM related project you refer to has been terminated as far as I know.

I'm having problems with Counterwallet (my XCP suddenly not showing up).
Is Counterparty's slack the best place to ask for help?
Edit: Problem of disappeared XCP solved by jp on slack
Just had to create a new address and my old address showed up
Edit 2:But still cannot withdraw. it tells me I don't have enough BTC for transaction fee, regardless of the amount of BTC I put into counterwallet, it's never enough
Edit 3: I could withdraw, finally... The XCP unfortunately didn't show up on Poloniex but I guess this is Poloniex's issue now, not Counterwallet's.

how much minimum sending fee in use counterwallet
and how setting in sending fee
I think in your wallet must have BTC 0.0005 or more to be able to do transactions sent out, I think you can set the fee in the wallet but I also had a little trouble wallet does not work well there might be a renewal of the purse counterwalletand how setting in sending fee

Here is my perspective as a founder of a startup that builds on top of Counterparty:
1. We have huge interest in using Counterparty as a crowdfunding platform for our game. Waves has no functionality yet in that regard from what I know.
2. The Dex works great and enables everyone to instantly trade their assets in a decentralized manner.
3. There is no need for Ethereum based smart contracts for our use case. The EVM project has been abandoned anyway, leaving more room for progressful innovation on the token creation side, such as sub-assets and randomized token distributions. Also, how do you define a smart contract? A multisig can also be seen as a smart contract.
4. No idea what you are referring to hear - would be happy if you could elaborate on it.
5. See point 2.
6. Creation of assets is very useful for an indefinite amount of purposes. Counterparty provides all the infrastructure needed for anyone to create a functional asset within seconds.
7. I am in the Counterparty Slack, where I receive instant support from all projects that build the infrastructure around Counterparty. A vibrant ecosystem of diverse but symbiotic applications is emerging.

I like Counterparty but I am less optimistic.
1. Decreasing interest to use counterpoarty for crowdfunding. Waves or something like this will be used.
2. Little progress. Functionality of the exchange is even worse than at the beginning, years ago. Does anybody use the dex?
3. Smart contracts are problematic even in Ethereum (either original or vitalikfork). Why should anybody use them here? What is so innovative about cloning the code of another coin?
4. Cybersquating with counterparty assets. Everything is better than this. Better to allow non unique aliases for assets than this.
5. The dex is slow, heavy and annoying. It is not improving. Nobody can build better technical solution on top of the existing dex. Something completely else will be used.

This seems like an interesting project indeed.
It is an interesting project, moreover it's one of the longest established, peer reviewed projects with a valid goal in mind, and innovative first to market features such as proof-of-burn distribution, decentralized market, programmable smart tokens, decentralized exchange and voting, and ability to 'clone' ethereum smart contracts. This feature has taken a while to launch to public, and not much news has been given. There has been some promises of 'soon' then some setbacks. So of course some impatient people have withdrawn interest and/or funds and moved to other projects to pursue short term gains.
However work still continues, slack still active, github work still ongoing, projects still building on counterparty stack, the smart contract feature will exist, at some point. CounterParty Will be coming up to 3 years now shortly it's been running , making it one of the most hardened and tested 2.0 coin launches in this space. Many projects abandoned much sooner- the ones that aren't abandoned grow stronger, they've become proven as technology and as a store of value, and they generally exhibit stability.
The train still chugs on and I anticipate it to slowly establish further dominance in the space. The crypto landscape is constantly in a state of flux and evolution. This project can rise; both in usage and value because it has all potential. We need more community integration however.
