Try the MSI installer available in the same page: https://github.com/CounterpartyXCP/counterparty-gui/releases

Please add the fact that its for Windows in the description. It's easy to miss/forget the .msi extension when browsing.  Smiley

What are the options for moving XCP from one BTC address to another?  I know of importing the private key into Counterwallet and sending from there.  Are there any other options?  Is there an ETA on the desktop wallet?

The gui desktop wallet is already here (its simple send/receives only though at the moment)

seems a little complicated for the avg joe, you need Python 3, PyQT5 etc.

Is there a windows compile coming out soon?

thanks

Could anyone explain what Counterparty's purpose/future are given Symbiont? What is it planning to do/be that Symbiont isn't planning to do/be?

Symbiont is using the Counterparty protocol to execute its model of "building the first issuance and trading platform for smart securities on blockchain technology." Symbiont will be one of what will eventually be many front ends to Counterparty's back end.

So there's no overlap between what Symbiont is/plans-to-be and what Counterparty is/plans-to-be?

No, beyond the fact that Symbiont is essentially financially backing future Counterparty open source development, by employing most of the core team and enabling them to spend some of their time working on the extant Counterparty codebase. Symbiont is a business with a commercial business model, Counterparty is an open source technology project with no commercial business model. (And yes, the foundation does take donations, but I don't consider that a business model Smiley .)

That is my understanding of it, yes. There is no critical overlap that will make one or the other useless.

Will Mastercoin assets like MAID show up in Counterparty?

No, but I have store all my MSC and MSC assets to empty Counterwallet address because that is easy when all are in same place. Hope someday have some wallet where can easy use that all.

I would assume that one day, some independent developer will create a wallet that can read both assets, but that is pure speculation

No and I don't think Counterwallet will move them either, but again, I'm not sure.

Is this coin going anywhere in the future? It seems like coins come out, do well, then become replaced with something better.

Yes, this coin is going somewhere. Counterparty is built on Bitcoin, not in competition with it. In addition to that incredibly huge difference between Counterparty and all other coins, Counterparty has significant utility, not just making transactions more private, faster, or something else along those lines. You'll have to do your own research unless someone is feeling more free with their time. Hope this helps!
