In my honest opinion we could use a break of that fundingtalk. Like EK said those funds were a donation without any certain usage, so forget about it for the moment.

As it stands at the moment we are not lacking funds or anything anyhow, project is progressing and if some funding is needed somewhere we (the community) will be able to come up with several hundred BTCs easily.

So relax folks.  Kiss

In my honest opinion the funds raised should be allocated for several purposes to varying degrees :
1 - compensation to founders and early activists (EK, Lannister, and anyone else deemed relevant)
2 - bounties and development (current and future)
3 - future promotion and pr (increasing exposure and community traction)
4 - exchange integration (if needed to increase major exchange integration chances - such as polo, bittrex)

That way the money is used both for the continued promotion and strengthening of the project, and monetary compensation for specific individuals who made it happen (win scenario for all parties involved).

Other than that I would like to say, good job thus far!

Can someone send some XEL to this account please?
[Edit] correct account
XEL-W4QY-SNJJ-SK3Y-F497A

I know there's faucet by it seems to check IP when sending XEL, and I already used it before

Not sure why but the faucet allowed me to withdraw another 10 k XEL after some time, so no need to send anything

Thanks anyway

Regarding holding the funds

I am totally fucked up by the funds talking.
The donations were not restricted to being used "wisely", means even if Lannister would spend them sipping Caipirinhas at some beach in Rio de Janeiro, from my point of view its absolutely fine if the goal of building the project in exchange is achieved, that was the only promise if I recall. And this is what we passionate crypto freaks are doing right now, isn't it? So why bother at all?

My suggestion, burn all funds that remained to some non spendable address. This way we can focus better instead of discussing the same shit over and over again!

PLZ DON'T BURN!

sorry for the capital.   the funds are multi signatured.   keep it for future bonus, especially to those who contribute most, especially to EK!

MOST OF US has no grudge to any of you.

only thing frustrated us is lanister is not active. but that is not a big issue. he has his own life.

what is your ideas? guys.

how about make a contribution list now  Lips sealed

1. EK   80%  90%? or   60%  ?    (30% for new features)?

I know what I'd want to do with it, if i was proficient enough (see https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/pre-ann-hub-1689947), but I know that this is way over my head and probably always will be.

I have read about your idea yesterday! It sounds very sleek, and I really think you should be more self confident in this point. As the GOLEM developers already said: Sky is the limit.  Grin

If you do not feel that confident in C++, there is nothing wrong to use an alternative language ... Python for example. And I am sure that many people will be there to support you and help you with their experience; me included  Wink

Thanks, I really appreciate your oppinion Smiley

Well, i didn't know programming, like, at all. So, I chose C++, because it looked like the one which I could do the most with. I didn't take a closer look at python, but I keep stumbling upon it, seems like an easy to learn, yet powerful language… Maybe I should take a closer look at it, then.

Yeah, in my head, the whole HUB: thing sounds kinda neat. However, I still need a good way to create the tokens and have them secured. I have a system already, but i'm not completely sold on it. I was thinking about a system, in which a big number of people generate keys but don't know which key belongs to which token, until a withdraw is requested.

…but I think it is getting too off-topic now. let's get back to Elastic.

Heh, thanks, but I'm still at a point where i wouldn't even know what question to ask exactly. To have something to aim for, I thought, I'd rebuild Langtons Ant. I managed to give it a direction, make it change the direction based on field colour and rudimentary coordinates, but I'm not at a point, where I can create a map for it or define fields and make them remember the changes.

I know what I'd want to do with it, if i was proficient enough (see https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/pre-ann-hub-1689947), but I know that this is way over my head and probably always will be.

You know, on one hand, I kinda agree with you on that one. I think that, even if we want to talk about the worth of XEL, by now, it is totally disconnected from the BTC donated. The same is the development you are putting into. This can't be said for everyone, though, and even if they don't admit it, the possibility of earning BTC may be the carrot dangling in front of some people here (ok, I admit it: I'm one of them. At least in part Grin ).

On the other hand, I know that this isn't going to be the narrative that is going to be told. If the funds disappear, that's what people are going to talk about, regardless of the legitimacy of the project itself. It's sad, I know. But I'm afraid that it's going to be that way.

Before we burn the BTC, can I have some? I promise to waste it on junkfood and virgin cuba libres Tongue

(…)

We can select a new person who working on communty requirements. iam suggesting more active/online people on this thread.. Maybe took,Unvoid, cyberhacker,

Too tired to answer accordingly, so just a "thank you" for putting your trust in me Smiley

As I stated, I'm not good with websites. I'm relatively good at designing stuff, though, so if someone would do the hosting and do the figuring out what to actually write, I could do the shiny designy stuff, E-K seems to despise Wink

Ek? Are u there

Yes, but I have no real idea how to make good websites, and I actually "dislike" good websites for their non-technical appearance. But that does not mean that we don't need a "good website". Maybe we do! I just think I am not the right person for this job :-) But fortunately there are so many other people here with good designing skills!

I could make it look more technical than a "normal" website. In fact, I'd love to.

I recently started learning a little C++, and I thought, that the design of IDEs with their different colours and the way the code is structred actually looks kinda neat.

Is someone had an example page for me, I would see what I can come up with.

Regarding holding the funds:
I personally would never in a thousand years hold the funds on my own. Holding a key of a multisig address, maybe. I'd like to see the funds in a multisig address, actually.

Thanks ;-) Well, I have so many computers here, I did not even need a new one. Anyways, I couldn't resist picking up one of the new MacBooks recently. Works like a charm even though I am not so sure if I like the new butterfly keyboard or not ;-) Also I am not so sure if the 256GB was the right choice, but the 512GB version had an estimated delivery date of 5 weeks from now.
