I received! Thank you!
Now I'd like to calculate something using the network. Where can i read about API and programming language?

Hey guys! The project looks great. I've donated some btc a month ago. Hope it will be ok  Smiley
Could you please send me some xel to test the network? Thank you in advance!

Happy to see real progress! Great work on wallet UI and on the explorer!
hi everyone, do we have a wallet yet ?

If you want to take a look you may check out my public testnet-wallet at https://elastic.dryptnodes.site

As soon as the migration to the current NXT Backend is over I will update the wallet.

I've a bad news for you guys who want to mine zcash.

Quote
ZCash will use Equihash as an hashing algorithm, which is an asymmetric memory-hard PoW algorithm based on the generalized birthday problem. It relies on high RAM requirements to bottleneck the generation of proofs and making ASIC development unfeasible, much like Ethereum.

If it's "memory-hard" algorithm it's highly possible we would not mine it on Elastic network. We have some restrictions if it comes to memory.

Elastic is mainly CPU heavy. Memory is highly restricted right now in Elastic network and I don't think that this will change so much that it will fit in ZCash needs. Of course we will probably rise memory that anyone can use but not that much.

@EK

bitmessage:
I resent message to @Lannister. I'll resend it again before bed time today.

fee:
I think it could be hard to us to write something that will calibrate the fee. Bitcoin devs trying to figure out dynamic fee for years without success. Someone know any altcoin that was trying to implement dynamic fee? For now, best here would be some default setting in nxt-default.properties.

i.e.
Code:
minimumTransactionFee = 0.01; // transactions with fee below this value would not be included in block by this forger

For now it's easiest and fastest solution for us and after you would implement this you could spent your time for other usefull things.

Forgers watching market price and when XEL goes up they lowering their fee, when goes down they rising their fee. Moreover it's a good competition mechanism for forgers.

bounty submission cost:
We can implement here the same mechanism as fee. Someone who want to put work to the network will fill input how much he want to pay for one bounty submission.
And miners in their settings can determine how much they want for one bounty submission and don't mine anything that is below certain amount.

Of course problem here is that bounty submission from one work != bounty submission from another job (i.e. first one took 1min to get solution, second one took 1hour)

But here could be a condition:
Code:

if( priceForSubmission < 0.01 && myMinerWorkingTime > 1min ) {

    stopWorkingOnThisJob;
    addThisJobToBlacklistToPreventStartingItAgain;

} else if ( priceForSubmission < 0.1 && myMinerWorkingTime > 10min ) {

    stopWorkingOnThisJob;
    addThisJobToBlacklistToPreventStartingItAgain;

} else if ( priceForSubmission < 1 && myMinerWorkingTime > 100min ) {

    stopWorkingOnThisJob;
    addThisJobToBlacklistToPreventStartingItAgain;

} ...

We could then add to the miner config settings like:

Code:
miminumPriceFor1minOfWorking: 0.01
miminumPriceFor10minOfWorking: 0.1
miminumPriceFor100minOfWorking: 1
...

Elastic:
As soon as I realized this project could happen, could work and could be really something different I loved it so yea, thanks for kind words and especially thanks for big heart and time you put to it. I didn't donated much back then but I hope there will be low price buying at the beginning of XEL trade.

so, some one plz figure out how to use XEL platform to mine zcash.

can't wait to see how it will be working

 Shocked use xel to mine zcash, we gonna be rich from xel ico.   Grin

yes this project is very badass! with some very talented developers on board!!
seems it has flown under the radar for many crypto users which is all the better for us who bought into the ICO Smiley
when the platform is ready they'll all be creaming their pants wondering how they missed it

600 btc ico, it is very potential, they will have much higher market cap than the current one

Maybe XEL can be turned into a legal botnet for mining different coins. Or a decentralized rig rental service.

I don't catch you, what do you mean? How to be a botnet for mining different coins?

He means that it would be possible to use the Elastic Network to mine other coins. Because many other people are working "for you" it could be understood as some sort of a botnet. But please understand that Elastic would never be a "real botnet" which can be used to DDOS something, this would be not possible. Elastic would be more like a market for computational resources which you can temporarily rent to solve your tasks ... even if the task is to find a block for the blockchain of some arbitrary coin.

Hi, I sent funds to the address back in march however when I lookup my address on http://www.elastic.pro/addresses it doesn't show up.

I can provide the transactions id, however i'm not sure who to contact.

Thanks

Hi,

well, the list was well meant but obviously badly done. We have to redo the voting site as you are not the only one who is confused.
In fact, the list has nothing to say as it only contains people wo have participated in the votes. People often confuse it with a list containing all people who have XEL. This is clearly not the case.

The only place to look for your XEL is in the official genesis block. I am 100% sure your transaction is included in the genesis block  Wink

maybe asked before;
but when I run ./run.sh (after a good compile) the test reference client seems to work in a terminal (on a MAC)
But unfortunately 127.0.0.1:7876 doesn't work, no page no connection. The terminal seems to work fine (connecting and seeing broadcasting messages).

Does anyone have some tips?

And one again, please use the reddit r/XEL . For quick and fast community reddit is the place to use!

127.0.0.1:6876 (7876 would be for the mainnet)

Thanks! it is now working!
Now please send some test XEL:
