@EK we should launch vote on minimum fee. Also after smoke falls, we should think about how much bounty submission should be worth. Of course 10XEL right now is too much (XEL should be worth 0.001$ or even less in current 10XEL per bounty for people to make it worth to submit any work). It will obviously either:
1 kill PoW functionality as no one will want to push overpriced work to the network, or
2 kill XEL as whole, as main functionality should be PoW itself.
If you need new host for the elastic.pro I can provide that.
Any thoughts?
Yes, we would definitely have to create a vote regarding the base fee. At least if we cannot come up with a reasonable algorithm that calibrates the base fee automatically. I have a hard time judging what would be good from the economical point of view (as I have no clue about it). Maybe we could go with some rule that a certain small percentage of the transaction volume in NXT per hour must be spent as a fee with a sliding window adjusting it constantly? If XEL is worth more, more likely less XEL will be transfered in such a sliding window and the less fees are going to be charged. Something like this, but I have no idea if this could work or if we should go for a static value.
I do not own elastic.pro, but I think you could ask Lannister about it. Maybe he would give the domain to you? We also have elastic-project.org which belongs to Isarmatrose who has not been online here for a while. Btw. did you contact Lannister in BM? I have read that he did not Acknowledge your Message but I had contact with him today. Maybe you have to resent as BM is working on a best effort basis and does not guarantee that messages arrive.
Regarding the Elastic PL functionality, we can add as many complex functions as we like (for now we have only SHA256 supported natively, the rest must be coded on the own). As long as we control what is executed (meaning we provide the code for the functions) we should be fine. We could collect some ideas for additional functionality somewhere, I think.
And yeah, I would love to see a nice website, with a good wiki, where everyone can inform himself easily. It's just that I cannot do everything so its very good to see people like you coming on board and taking responsibility for certain parts of the project. It's the same with me, nobody told me to write the main wallet/client, it's just the best I can do
After all, its very good to have you here on board ;-) Thanks for that!
