Its still pending work and not really useable.
The main project is in the root directory "/" the rudimentary miner is in "/subexperiments-lua-engine".
Should work when set up locally, is highly unstable and some essential features are missing.
I think that I can finish a first "usable" milestone pretty soon ... maybe until the next weekend?
You can get the feeling for the client in one of the videos posted here recently.

What I would love, would be if some lite version of the coin could go online so people can accumulate or move their XEL to different pubkeys. I have no idea how such thing might look like when newly created XEL are still expected

First basic version of a miner is working. Basic, because it has not the 10ms block thing yet, but we are making a good progress I think.

What are the biggest obstacles to overcome in this project? Is it possible that any of them can't be overcome?
Nothing is impossible But I think the hardest parts are distributing the work in to seperate packages, making sure it's secure and there aren't any exploits and verifying the work.
