Looks very interesting!
When is a free distribution started?

I would hate to see this project get hijacked by individual that appeared month or so ago and already making statements and promises to other as "community"
We appreciate your concern. We are a strong community ( stronger than we look ). We have knowledgeable scientists ( not devs) like EK, Coralreefer. We have volunteers like Unvoid who work every chance they have. We have a democratic voting system. We listen to anyone , even ones that offer 200 BTC twitter account  Wink , but at the end we make a logical decision.

Even when we go live, hold on to your precious XELs. We've had three votings and less than half of our total XEL Supply has participated ( for whatever reason : not interested, forgot about XEL, lost private key,....). I have this strange feeling the Supply even after MVP and complete product, would be much less than 100 mil.
So, treat your XELs with TLC.  Grin

Nice logo! It was fun participating in the contest. Let's get this project rolling already.

Hi unvoid, first thanks for u add the vote. But lightwallet is the only option, that not all our internal voice.Just see some voice below.IMO setting up voting without all the other options to choose from will be undemocratic and manipulative to say the least.

Voting should be made only after we can understand and articulate clearly what our different options are with their respected implications (lite wallet is one of the options). Setting up voting without all the other options to choose from will be undemocratic and manipulative to say the least.

I'd like the first release to contain something innovative and not just sending/receiving tokens. But the community can vote on this.

The choice has been discussed in this thread at length during the last half dozen pages, either light wallet now which will allow transactions or wait until the product is functional and then release.  The voting is quite clear to me.

I think warm orange instead of the green will look better. is the choice definite, or can adjustments be made?

I haven't voted, but I would've voted for the green. The vote is over. This is what was chosen by the community and I'm happy with the outcome.

At the end of the day it's about building the brand around the logo, not the logo around the brand.

@twistelaar - What's the point with voting, when you want to change the logo just because you don't like the outcome of the voting, which is what majority selected!

Logo looks great, was selected by fair voting, and as asenski said it's also about building a brand.

I'm not a dev, but isn't XEL based on nxt? nxt has a nice Voting included.

I'm not sure how to vote for the Client. One Voice says, it would be much better to develop hidden and release a ready Client. On the other side, it really could be helpful to start a main net and to have Funds to acquire more devs.

I will of course give 5 to 10 % of my (Donated) Stake to a (maybe voted?) Foundation to force and finance further Development. All devs involved should get their stake!

On the other Side I can really understand EK and coralreefer. Until now it was a nice "Hobby" for them, they did a lot of work just for the work to be done, learn and have Fun. A Light Client will change that all to a commercial Product. That's a big Step.

With the ability to transact in XEL some of the value that has been created by EK, CR and other can be realized and applied to further development.  There are many new people popping their head in here constantly asking how they can get a stake in the project, this opens the door.

No voting is built in at the moment, but that does not need to stay that way if anyone has a great idea how such thing could be implemented / designed! I am surprised though how many are in favour of a light wallet.

Light wallet seems the optimal move forward. You get the funds to build the ecosystem, attract and pay more devs, do marketing, form foundation, etc. With one single move, you are effectively increasing development scope, development speed and market awareness.  Cool

Reposting this for visibility.

Hi guys. I am working on a new OP for the project and appreciate some feedback. After we have enough feedback and revise the post, I offer to create a new bitcointalk OP for elastic and maintain it up to date with all the information we need. As soon as we have it revised and created, I propose moving the bitcointalk discussion there, so we can have control over the OP.

Let me know what important information needs to be added to the post.

P.S. Picked one of the proposed logos for demonstration.

What is Elastic?

Elastic is an open-source project, aiming to build the first decentralized supercomputer. Elastic Coin provides the infrastructure for a decentralized and distributed computation of arbitrary tasks over the in-ternet. In  this  context,  Elastic Coin  is  built  on-top  of  a crypto currency and provides a market-based mechanism to buy  and  sell computational  resources. Buyers, those  who need  computational  resources,  model  their  problem using Elastic Coin’s software development kit and broadcast it, along with a certain amount of XEL coins, to the network. The so-called miners are then motivated to offer their computational resources in exchange for a portion of those XEL coins. The size of this portion depends on the amount of work a miner has contributed in relation to the rest of the network. Using XEL as the driving force, Elastic Coin offers potential buyers a large parallel computation cluster composed of many CPUs, GPUs, FPGAs and other devices supplied by the miners. All at a fair and market-driven price.

My first transactions after lite wallet launch are some donations to EK and coralreefer.

Also we need to setup voting for foundation with 5 community members initially and 3 of 5 multi sigs for funds. It can be done during the wallet launch(I think its 1 week for EK to create lite wallet).

Thanks unvoid.

BTW, I love the way the voting is organized with elasticracy. Brilliant.

Yeah, would be cool to have elasticracy built in the wallet (some day)

Elasticracy will be outdated as soon as mainnet launch. Original stake holders will be irrelevant. If we want to some kind voting mechanism we should take a look at NXT or other coins that tried to implement voting mechanism.

That is a valid observation indeed...

Does NXT have voting built-in?

So far the vote seems to have an obv result.

Too early to tell. When voting for the money supply change, early results looked nothing like the final one.

Maybe, but we have already 17% turnout and nearly all of it in favor of LW. That's alot. Chances of another result are below 5% imo.

Maybe elasticracy can be adapted to the new addresses and balances.

I noticed this when trying to vote.

Warning: Bitcoin signatures expose your public keys (that shouldn't be a problem until ECDSA is broken). Moreover address reuse with a faulty random number generator may leak your private keys.

Would someone please explain to me what exactly is the risk I'm running by voting?
