And how did this multi-algo mining worked for Myriad? What where the problems?
There are quite a few. Myriad is not actually the first - I think Huntercoin did it first with just Sha256 and Scrypt. It was the first to implement five algorithms though, and that has been copied by many coins: Digibyte, Verge, Saffroncoin (dead?), Auroracoin, Anoncoin (?), Digitalcoin, Unitus, and probably some others I'm forgetting.
The problems are not many, at least experienced so far. There have been some issues with difficulty retargeting that allow someone with a lot of hashrate on one algo to get a bunch of blocks in a row on it, but those have been fixed I think. Currently there are issues with one algo not producing as many blocks as expected, but it's not really a problem, per se.
Thanks for the info. I remember mining Anoncoin and Digitalcoin , but I don't remember them being a multi algo..
As I recall they switched to multi-algo from mono-algo. I think there may have even been one coin that went/started multi-algo and switched back to mono-algo but the name escapes me...
