Cpu only algo is definitively a must have
Primecoin is a good choice i guess. Memorycoin already has a gpuminer
I agree 100%, that there should be a 100% CPU algo element - which way to go, I do not know...

As I have written before, I think memory requirements (RAM) should be considered - that would automatically also exclude botnets - if e.g. 1 thread needs 2 GB RAM (or 4 GB?) an average PC becomes unusable, so botnets would not work.

I don't agree.. I have a 3930K with 16GB ram. If it's 2GB per thread, i'll be limited to ~6 thread if i want to continue using my PC. I also have a dual xeon with 32 thread and 32GB memory.. same problem.

Maybe a huge memory allocation (~4 or 8 GB?) for the miner, no matter the number of thread used ?

I don't know nothing about programming, so i might say nonsenses..

We need more Qubit and Groestl pool.

Stablehash has a mandatory 1% donate on top of 3% fee and 0.1 TX fee for the only Groeslt pool

I was thinking perhaps we could swap the current cpu algo for chaincoin algo, but then again somebody has already seemingly provided a gpu miner for that  Undecided

Wonder why http://myr.poolerino.com/ is down :/ The website and my miners connection to the pool stopped working yesterday afternoon before I went to bed. Switched to mining another coin with my miners but was hoping it would be up by now again. Hope this is just a temp thing and didn't lose my coins that I didn't withdrawal yet.

We are still under heavy ddos attack. Even our hoster, who claimed anti.ddos hosting is his business, took us offline (ovh hosting). We are deeply sorry about that.

Edit: we are back online ! hopefully its over. Knocking on wood here.

Awesome! Glad it's back online. Smiley Mining their again!

I think it's a gap somewhere here. The coin is too cheap to be made by with electricity . I think something involving some botnets it's happening here. Someone making too cheap the coins and sell at any price... Any thoughts?
Someone is forcing the price down with artificial orders on exchanges + people went IRC panic yesterday over the "no more cpu" thing. Since the dev is considering an algo swap, the price is currently undervalued in my opinion. And that is the reason why the price is being forced down too - for massive buy-in and multiplied value over time.

Let me historically mark the price here: 0.0000012
One day, we will laugh (or cry)

most likely laugh Smiley

I've made more than 20 posts to this thread in a week. I'm not going to respond to every person that asks: "Where's the dev?". If you have something positive to contribute I'm more than happy to respond.

hi dev, stop being inactive spam the thread with a shitload of useless shit so that those coming to get in on a good pump and dump can feel at ease.

Grin anyway, I wanted to ask whether a hardfork for a different cpu algo is planned

It certainly is possible. I have considered the primecoin or memory coin algos, but this is not being planned for the immediate future.

This coin is very interesting. So interesting in fact that I stopped renting my hashing power to other people just to mine this coin.

It's very very rare to see a truly innovative coin.  This is one ship no one should miss out on before it sets sail.

Kudo's to the person who came up with this coin.

come on reddit lemme give you a tip Cheesy
