I've got the same os, 8.1 and 64kbit and it works fine, maybe your firewall is blocking your outgoing!

Do you use firewall?
Maybe you have to authorize stealth wallet in your firewall config
Stealth wallet don't need add nodes to sync

type %APPDATA% then go to Roaming folder and stealthcoin,
write all node into notepad save them as .conf and copy it into that folder name Stealthcoin.
hope your sync issue will resolve.
Which did not find any .conf file.
I will write it to the new StealthCoin.conf file, but has no effect.
I tried stealthclient 2.0 BETA and 1.3.0.0, without success.

I read some time ago that crypto 2.0 features would be integrated in XST. I don't see them in the wallet. Will it be implemented and if so, what are these features and when will it be integrated?
what is crypto 2.0? name one feature.
XST is crypto 3.0 when everything is implemented/integrated

There are lots of great features planned / currently being implemented. Can you be more specific regarding crypto 2.0? Are you referring to blocknet?
