My thoughts on all this:

We've reached the point where AWS EC2 spot instances for mining YAC are no longer profitable (I know, since I just shut down 40 extra large clusters). That means from here on out mining is going to start being done by people who own their hardware (read: everybody with a CPU).

That's a good thing, because it's properly decentralized. It's much harder to run a CPU farm as cost-efficiently as a GPU farm (you certainly can't have 6 consumer-grade CPUs per motherboard, and server hardware is expensive).

Meanwhile, the people with the largest YAC stacks are people who fired up server clusters to mine the crap out of it early on. The people with the insight and skill to do that will largely have been developers.

If most of the YAC is owned by developers, there's a huge motive to develop applications for YAC to see it succeed.

So we've got a properly decentralized currency with built-in developer support.

See you guys on the other side of 50 LTC/kYAC.

Some data for the list:

i5 3570k @4,7ghz 315kh/s
i5  (3ghz)  ~190 kh/s
i3 (sandy) 3.1ghz = 115 kh/s
i5 2450m (2.9ghz) = 105 kh/s

teach me master!! i5 3450, how to raise kh/s?

using avx version for my two intel i7 prosessors, and ssse3 on my amd cpu.
Got EXTREMELY better performance.went from about 100 per i7 prosessors to around 200-250! (i7 3770 and i7 920), and went from 30 to 125 on the amd (athlonII X3 460)!
i7 920 support AVX?
Introduced with sandy bridge, so, no, sorry for you Sad

The target block time, is only 60 seconds? Does that have any affect on orphan blocks %?

Also, is there no GPU support yet, and how long estimated until there is?

I am curious ! thanks.

Anyone else mining with this now? I didn't create it, so can't vouch for it.. for all I know I just installed a YAC stealing trojan.

I am getting proper hashrates in Windows now though!  Roll Eyes

Many users have problems with the mining YAC under Windows x64, because of low speed. I've compiled minerd under Window 7 x64 with support for SSSE3 and AVX.

Features:
- no sources, only binaries. I haven't finished it yet
- compiled under VS2010
- sha256 and scrypt not work, i haven't enough time to fix it. Only scrypt-jane works correctly.
- command line parameters supported only in Win style ("-o" but not "--url").

Using:
minerd_scrypt_jane_x64_ssse3.exe -q -a scrypt-jane -o http://URL:PORT -O USER:PASSWORD
minerd_scrypt_jane_x64_avx.exe -q -a scrypt-jane -o http://URL:PORT -O USER:PASSWORD
