Horizen is not only a cryptocurrency but a platform with privacy-focused apps. So Horizen needed more than a fresh logo and the website revamped.

What apps sir? i did not see any REAL apps untill now, only small talk about it....

For me, ZenCash is more powerful. I'm not sure what the exact reason is for fully rebranding. Maybe only design & logo can be changed.

It's more about a brand expansion to represents the perspective of the community. Horizen is not only a cryptocurrency but a platform with privacy-focused apps. So Horizen needed more than a fresh logo and the website revamped.

I'm curious, how will an individual's data be protected (private) BEFORE it gets put on their "privacy" blockchain?

I'm not asking about currency that can be kept private with a hardware wallet.  I'm asking about a piece of hardware your data is on before it gets on another piece of hardware that's not encrypted and may be compromised BEFORE it gets uploaded to their blockchain.  Or visa-versa, data that's on a piece of hardware [That may be compromised] and someone now wants to put that data on a privacy blockchain AFTER that data has already been compromised from being entered on a piece of hardware that has been compromised.

The marketing sounds great and all but has everyone REALLY thought this through?
As far as I know there are no projects in existence, that can fully answer on your demands. All existing projects are based on technology (Not hardware) -> piece of code  and mathematics.. But in the near future this is not excluded. We are solving problems one by one.  Also we are raising awareness about need for privacy, as basic human right. 100% privacy is not possible even with the best hardware and software in the world, there will be always a human error and stupidity.

New logo represents our values, qualities, and technology, it is attractive and versatile. ZenCash expanded their brand to reflect it’s direction with technology advancements and social innovations! We are platform now and we have much more to offer not only "cash".

I know the current electronic money no longer is completely anonymous; whether it is due to the lack of network level or economic deficiencies. Do not exist in electronic currency guarantees coded the entire top end of the distributed network. Horizen is designed to be absolute as a network and also as a means to send and distribute the money. Horizen did not make an ICO or mine. Horizen started as a chain from Zclassic, provides a base of owners of Zen. This project is very attracted to people learn and have far-reaching implications.

yup, english word and like I said , pathetic.

Conasse is the name of your mother ?  Grin

The French language uses English words ' (for example weekend). Like the English language uses French words.
Your ignorance is pathetic, to say the least.

ZEN miner and holder too, wondering what is the official position regarding ASIC mining. Something will be done about that and if yes when. A clear answer will be greatly appreciated.
Thank you.

The Zencash team thinks the changing of the PoW is lower priority than the super/secure nodes and something else. So there will be no change of PoW in the short term.

There will be no change in PoW... PERIOD...

I've sold all my ZEN and selling all GPU's now.

So... let me summarize what you've done here:

So, let me summarize what you've done:

Demonstrate you're NOT an electrical engineer and/or if so, a terrible one at that.

I'm done with you!

Please try again, faucet was empty.  If same error occurs please inform me. Thanks!

Yes it's fine again, thanks. I'll check the faucet balance before saying anything next time!
Cheers!

Nice rebrand. Avoiding its synonymous effect to other coins

Back on topic... I think the devs are getting way too much flack for their decision to delay introducing any POW algorithm changes.  Their decision was a hard one, but ultimately their decision was based on the security of the network which is more important.  I know many GPU miners are disappointed, but changing to a new algorithm opens them up to new 51% attacks from another Nicehash GPU onslaught.

When the equihash ASIC were first announced, I saw a little bit of a knee-jerk reaction from the devs and that worried me.  They had a few months to consider some options, but this kind of change is not easy.  I like the position that they would rather be the leader of an algorithm, than just chase their tails trying to prevent ASICs every six months like Monero is trying to do.

They need to complete their consensus changes, and then take a look at alternatives like ProgPOW, MTP, etc.

Ultimately it's the features of an altcoin that will make people want to use it, not whether it can be mined by a GPU or ASIC... that's petty stuff.

And no one would like to see this scenario (Another attack)!

BlockDAG is meant to collapse difficulty. It was always meant to be the long term solution to mining centralization.

puwaha, if a computer or device is purpose built to transmit data over the powerlines, yes, it can do that. But to claim that a generic PC from a run of the mill manufacturer has this built in as a backdoor is utter stupid.

By the way, I initially thought your back and forth with the other guy would keep this thread alive and may be generate some traffic, but if the thread is full of his nonsense on topics not even on a tangent, it would actually hurt us. Just ignore him. I think plenty have understood who represents what in this thread and community.

You are right.  I was hoping we could get into some finer points like how a power factor circuit in a switched power supply is designed to smooth out a rectifed AC to DC conversion thus destroying any "command and control" that a bad actor like the NSA could possibly use in one-way communications with a compromised computer.  Or how the loop-back DC circuit could supply some bad and possibly interesting harmonics if a C&C signal did somehow make it through.  I could have been an interesting discussion.  But I'm done with it.
