ThirtyK-> After Cyber Attack, Cryptocurrency ZenCash Fights Back

“The longest chain rule, or Satoshi Consensus, worked well in the relatively decentralized environment in which it was introduced in 2009,” ZenCash’s white paper says. “Mining resources have since concentrated and dropped in cost for lease, such that the original dominant strategy of playing by the rules no longer holds for all proof-of-work (PoW) blockchains that rely on the longest chain rule.”

Very promising project. It's nice to see that even in such, not the best times for the project and its community - the project is developing confidently! Good luck to the developers!

It's a very active project. Never feels like this might be dying anytime soon and the main guys behind this are very eager and determined to take this to the next level.

Zencash is always consistent in all forms of progress and development efforts, no one if it still exists to date and compete with other great altcoin.

People underestimate the power of zencash. Last week I was talking to friends about privacy coins and someone admitted zencsh is the most promising privacy coins. When people will realize this, the value will boom like the big bang Cheesy

The big privacy coins all have great developers. I don't know if one really has a huge edge over the others.

Hey guys anyone to tell me if the zencash team fixed the bug from zcash with deamon? A memory leak or something like that

Right now I don't know but last month it was still here. I guess it will be fixed with the next release. Don't worry, the dev. team is perfectly active working

I see, thank you. It's just because I have a problem with my CPU filled to 100% and not really sure where to look at Sad

How Blockchain Provides Privacy Under Oppressive Governments

Nice one. I agree the blockchain technology can help the countries with oppressive regimes and censorship. People forget there are countries where privacy doesn't exist

True, blockchain can change things, maybe it's just that many people who do not understand about this technology is very important. But at least this is good news.

Open your eyes folks!  GPU mining days are over.  The smart folks already look at GPU mining like we've been looking CPU mining.  Hoping and pressuring developers to fork so you can still mine with GPU at the expense of the stability of the blockchain, shows your true intentions were always about profits.  Open your eyes folks, GPU mining is dead.

The first fork coming closer and closer.

Regarding this well known blog:
https://blog.zencash.com/zencash-statement-on-potential-equihash-algorithm-change/

"The timing of the change will be based on how quickly a second hard fork can be successfully completed after the ZenCash upgrade in July 1.  The team is working to do this within 4-6 weeks after the July 1 hard fork, and will determine a more precise date as the potential event gets closer.

The ZenCash development team, in collaboration with the community, reserves the right to review and change the decision to Hard Fork, especially if it is determined that changing the Equihash-144-5 algorithm will not be effective in promoting decentralization of mining."

The blog is nearly 2 month old now. Are there any results of the evaluation process (change/not change the algorithm), which can be announced to the community?

I hope the ZENCash team will fork the chain to equihash-144-5 algo, because I support the project for a long time and don't wan't to see my GPU-Rigs are obsolete in the future. Furthermore I don't sell any ZEN I mined since I'am involved in ZEN mining --> but I sell all my ZEC, because I think they move in the wrong direction.

In my opinion a simple reason for ASIC resistance is the following: the decentralization is realized by many private community members mining with their own graphics cards in their houses. Not many of them will buy an ASIC for mining. ASICs shift the main hashpower to the bigger players... But that will shrink the community clearly. Additional, the bigger players just sell their coins to get the profits of mining, but with a larger community some more people (like me) will HODL their coins because they don't only see mining profits and they see all the functionality behind the simple "Mine->Sell"-thing.

The ZEN-Team is a very competent Dev-Team and I hope continue the their great work on ZENcash.

Angie is awesome and doing a great job in the Zencash community. I am glad youtube has the subtitles Cheesy
She is right when she says how it's important for the team to spread the word and explain the advantages some countries can have while using the Zen platform. We can't expect to see people understand cryptos without learning something, it's a matter of education

It's one of the good points about zencash. With over 50 people in the team spreading zencash via conferences, meetings etc it helps a lot.
Another thing is the team is focused on the community as well
